anybody you're using netcup
in Providers
was just curious if people were using them, or is there anything better. Kind of running something critical and I need something to be as stable as possible, I try to use OVH, but I made a stupid mistake when I was younger and dispute a charge from them and their support said my account is banned forever I suppose

I use them in production. They German so don't break any of their rules.
how stable are they and have you had to contact support?
from what I've seen they're from what I've seen they're pretty stablepretty
If Hetzner knew how many rules I broke over the years I would be banned for life
I guess @itachikonoha uses them... maybe he can give you a review.
I used their service for only 2 months, no issues with performance, but support is super slow, they took almost 15 days just to send first reply.
Netcup root server is stable (I haven't used their other line ups)
Performance wise it will be in mid range but stable none the less.
I had a terrible experience with them, due to their cancellation policies back then, don't know how it is now.
I paid for 6 months, when reaching the end of the 6th month , you actually have to fill a form to cancel the thing. Did it , got done with it. Nope, they kept billing me, I ignored them for the next year, started receiving court threats.
I was supposed to cancel 30 days prior to the end of the 6 months. So effectively they confirmed multiple times: "yes, you must cancel 30 days prior to the end of contract" . So you'd pay for 6 months but effectively use the service for 5 months (After cancellation you destroy your VPS).
Never again .
I can say the same for their VPS lineup. But this was back early last year.
i'm considering a root server. Is there anything better if it's bad
BS
You cancel the renewal contract. Your server remains available till your current contract ends unless you specifically ask them to terminate the service like immediately.
I moved a production server to a Netcup Root Server EPYC Turin about 8 months ago and I am very happy with it so far. It has good performance, zero downtime so far, and all the features you would need like all ports open, custom ISO's, rDNS on both IPv4 & IPv6, a /64 block, REST API, etc... I haven't had to contact support so I can't speak to that (hopefully I will never need to). I wasn't thrilled when they raised the price 19% but other than that it's been great.
how is the net work
You asked about netcup last September:
https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/210007/is-netcup-good
In addition, you were trying to get a netcup server in October:
https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/210603/anyone-have-a-nnetcup-server-that-is-not-being-used
Given this, it seems odd to ask about netcup again (as though you hadn't asked before)
The barbara streisand effect is being used. I guess
oh my bad. I legitimately didn't remember I created those topics for some reason
Yes. I can understand people dont cancel in time though. Had that happen myself once. Not a big deal.
And they do try to collect that money if they can... Like any other sane business
.
Its my penny.
If I need to spend 100 bucks to claim what is mine rightfully, I will do so
I think they're contracting rules have changed
At the time you HAD to go through a huge form, not a press of a button, and also, why did they change the 30 day window to 14? Its less than half the days.
Just let me cancel the fucking thing before i get billed again. "Whoops! You missed the deadline written in the fine prints! We're not like other providers baby, you got yourself a renewal"
The other dumb dumb answering me, is playing a dumb dumb game, not gonna answer him even. BS his mom.
I wrote a fucking Trustpilot where they acknowledged that my service was cancelled and became inaccessible and apologized and offered something , didn't care, refused, and let my 1 start remain there.
If anyone besides the dumb dumb clown in the thread wants proof of my exchange with NETCUP on Trustpilot that proves they restricted access after cancellation 31 days prior to renewal, I can provide the direct link. The reason I'm not leaving it here is that I'm using my real name and surname.
Yes, indeed. The event I'm referring to happened many years ago.
