OVH launches 2027 VPS line

OVH launched a new VPS line 2027 with changes in hardware and pricing.

This line goes back to old standards, but without the smallest plan existed before 2026.
The prices going up almost 100%

The launched hardware is unknown, waiting for yabs, if someone is willing to test.
Sadly no local zones and less locations than before.

Local zone vps are available now via the vps-2 plan as the lower spec vps-1 plan is new and vps-2 has the specs that are only available in local zones. But $10 instead of $8.5

But they killed the old (2025) vps-4 - vps-6: no high bw vps anymore. 1.5 gbit max now.

The old VPS-2 was listed at 9.99 eur and now its called VPS-3 and now 10,40 eur

  • ascicodeascicode Member

Only available as no commitment, 6m or 12m.
Localzones have same price as standard locations.

  • Does anybody know what CPU these plans use?
Still the older Intel Xeon E5s as before?

Not bad; I still have a few 2020-line VPSes that cost slightly less (~$5/mo).

Only issue is the spec (1C/2GB RAM/20 GB SSD) lmao

The option for localzone is no longer available.

  • zrj766zrj766 Member

OVH US no longer offers the option to order US VPS. It's unclear whether this is due to a shortage or a permanent change. At least for now, if you want to order an OVH US node, you can only choose a dedicated server.

APAC traffic capped at 1TB for VPS-2 & VPS-3 is terrible. What clowns.

I believe it will come back.

Would have thought a fresh range would have brought a fresh perspective. Same old OVH.

  • Any YABS?

    I grabbed a VPS-1 in SBG.
I have the 2026 version but its price got bumped to €72.24/y before tax.
    2027 VPS-1 is €45.71/y before VAT.
So I don't think I'll renew the 2026 one since half the performance is still enough for my use case.

Anyway, here's the yabs. Not sure why tee did not catch the benchmark, the values are in the link at the end.
