VPN In Persion Gulf

How fast is the connection from Iran to a server in Istanbul versus Canada? Is Istanbul actually the closest fast option, or is somewhere like the UAE better now?

Comments

  • https://check-host.net - use this and test, there are 3 nodes in Iran and 2 in Turkey.
The way things work now (3 months blackout) I think for the average Iranian it doesn't
matter even if the server is on the moon connected with 56kbit phone line, as long as
the internet works. Some people even use weird tunneling like ICMP or spoofing.

In terms of latency, Armenia is the best (sub 20ms) with Turkey/UAE close behind (sub 50ms).
Azerbaijan is a bit of a hit or miss, in some datacenters you can get sub 20ms in others up to 150ms.
