What's the best way to stay on top of the latest VPS deals?

openidopenid Member

Missed the new provider's €5 deal last time and they hiked the price after. (Hope they're not a new "summer host", oh well, it's summer now, but I didn't buy it so even if they are, it's not my problem lol) So how do you guys find these VPS deals the moment they drop? Not talking about the constant fake "deals" some keep spamming—yeah, you know who you are.

Put some app to notify you on new posts there, idk.
Stupid question like "how do you guys find news".

  • You have to glue yourself to the screen and never close LET. Also, forget about your sleep.

The important thing to remember is that a 2 core VPS can mean virtually anything. It's sort of like saying a place is "2 bedroom". It could be a luxury mansion or it could be a crack house. Without the YABS or the processor or the like, you're just hoping for the best, and some providers strongly limit the time you can max it out while others let you treat it like a VDS.

If the provider is new, it's probably best to avoid the offer, but if the deal seems just too great to pass up, give it a little $$ to try it out and go from there.

Over time, I've found providers I like and while I make sure not to keep all my eggs in one basket, I definitely have a list of "never again" companies.
