Bad experience with Teknosos VPS

Hi,

I just want to share my experience with Teknosos so others can be aware before buying.

I bought a VPS from their website. In their terms, they mention 50 Mbps download / 50 Mbps upload for virtual servers, but after I got the server, the speed was nowhere near that.

My speedtest result was:

Download: 3.37 Mbit/s
Upload: 6.49 Mbit/s

I opened a ticket and asked them to check it. First they told me to buy a port package. I replied that I’m not asking for anything extra, just the speed they already mention in their own terms.

After that, their ticket support replied:

“We’re tired of explaining, please read our terms of service.”

I also contacted them on WhatsApp, and the conversation was not professional at all. They said things like:

“With the $2 you paid, are you going to use my $30 worth of internet?”

For me, this is not an acceptable way to handle support. I understand that technical issues can happen, but if a provider advertises or mentions a certain port speed in their own terms, customers should at least receive something close to that, or the provider should offer a proper solution.

I wasn’t expecting anything special. I only expected the VPS to work with the basic speed they mention in their own terms. Instead, I got a very slow VPS and unhelpful support.

I have screenshots of the ticket, speedtest, terms page, and WhatsApp chat.

Provider: Teknosos / teknosos.com.tr

They also suspended my account after I complained about the speed.

Honestly, even if they hadn’t suspended it, with 3.37 Mbit/s download and 6.49 Mbit/s upload, I would never buy another server from them again.

What, precisely, do the terms say?

1.9 In server hosting, dedicated server rental, and virtual server services, unlimited traffic is provided with a port speed of 50 Mbps download / 50 Mbps upload. The service is provided within the framework of shared infrastructure and fair usage principles. If the service is used in a manner that adversely affects the infrastructure, constitutes abuse, or jeopardizes service continuity, the provider reserves the right to take the necessary technical measures. If the user requests a higher port speed or a different traffic capacity, an additional port or traffic package may be provided for an extra fee.

How did you test that? Could you post yabs? Also what is your current traffic usage?

I usually check the speed of the server via Speedtest-cli

You misunderstand what port speed means. That's the maximum speed of the hardware, not the speed that you're guaranteed to achieve. Unless it's advertised as a "dedicated port", it will be shared with potentially many other people.

I understand that shared infrastructure does not mean guaranteed 50 Mbps all the time.

But in their own terms they say the service is provided with 50 Mbps download / 50 Mbps upload port speed. I got only 3.37 Mbit/s download right after buying the VPS, and I had barely used any traffic.

For me this is still too low and not normal.

I was not expecting dedicated 1 Gbps or something special. I just expected a speed reasonably close to what they mention in their terms, or at least a proper explanation from support.

and they have written this on the virtual private server page :
