[REQUEST] Trading a .MY Domain for 2-Month Dedicated Server Access
Hey everyone,
I'm looking to trade a domain I own, freeoptimizer.my (reg price $49.99/year at 101domain.com) in exchange for access to a dedicated server for approximately 2 months.
Full disclosure: I have no prior experience managing a commercial dedicated server. This is precisely why I'm looking for this kind of arrangement. I'd like a hands-on opportunity to learn without committing to a paid plan upfront.
My intended use is entirely legitimate, I'm looking to experiment with Proxmox and explore virtualization in a real dedicated server environment.
If you have an idle or spare dedicated server and are open to a trade, I'd love to hear from you. In return, you'd receive freeoptimizer.my (reg price $49.99/year at 101domain.com), a .MY ccTLD domain that could be useful for services, branding or portfolio purposes. (I'm not covering transfer fees)
To summarise:
What I'm offering: freeoptimizer.my
What I'm looking for: Dedicated server access for ~2 months
Intended use: Proxmox & virtualization testing, personal learning only
My experience level: Beginner, no prior commercial server management experience
What I'm looking for (minimum specs):
Number of Cores: at least 8 Core
RAM: at least 32GB
Disk Space: at least 500GB
Disk Type: SSD
I understand this is may be an unconventional request, and I appreciate any help from more experienced members here. If you're willing to give a newcomer a shot, feel free to reply or shoot me a PM.
Thanks in advance!

How about 5 eggs and a shovel?
I'm trading dinodildos.com for a year's access to KS-MYSTERY or KS-LE-B lottery winner. Interested @Saragoldfarb ??
Im trading @Rubben for a
creative++ You will be the new Sam Altman
I'm sorry sir, @Rubben currency is not accepted here.
@OP in all non-seriousness: You are probably better off getting a cheap dedi. $20/m for an 8C16T (i figure that's what you mean by 8 cores) box is tough and probably means OVH (which sucks for your 2 month usage due to setup costs) but servers don't grow on trees after all and chances of someone loving your domain so much that they'll not only rent you a server at a loss but also shoulder the risk of you getting them into trouble is extremely slim. At $30/m you could absorb OVHs setup or have a chance of getting a deal elsewhere.
I am yet to see a host that accepts barter system as a payment method
Which is a damn shame since PawnVPS could be a massive success. They'd just need a couple somewhat central locations for people to mail shit to.
PawnVPS - We take shit to let people host shit
1c/1g/10g just at a pair of socks per month
I wonder what a brush cutter (practically unused) would get me.
PornVPS would be a even greater success.
True. Porn can be send by email. That simplifies things quite a bit.
I remember the days when we used to save images on 1.44MB disks, it was like one image per disk and the quality wasn't anything near amazing.
Well, @OP, given the progress of the situation i might have changed my mind. I guess i could supply you with that server you are craving but i don't want your domain. What i'll need is at least half an hour of steaming hot private porn video per month of rental.
Please DM me so we can start the KYC process for the involved actors (i don't want no sketchy shit and i'll also have make sure that what you are sending me is actually authentic).
Does it come with your current DinoDildo stock?
Is it a problem if they are used?
No, that's a pro actually.
Thank you all for taking the time to reply! I realize now that my idea to trade a domain for a dedicated server was probably a bit too optimistic and naive.
A special thanks to @totally_not_banned for the genuine and realistic advice. You make a very good point about the setup costs and how things actually work in the industry. I'll take your advice and just look into getting a cheap $20-$30/m dedicated server instead. I really appreciate you taking the time to point that out.
To everyone else who dropped a joke or a 'creative' offer, thanks for the laughs! I'll have to politely pass on those, but I appreciate the humor.
Thanks again, everyone. Have a great day.
