[nws.sh] iperf3 Bench Coming Soon! Looking for iperf3 Servers & High-Speed VM/Dedi Sponsor

sh97sh97 Member, Host Rep

Hey LET,

I'm currently working on a new feature for nws.sh (Simple Network Speedtest) that adds iperf3 benchmarking support (shamelessly copied from YABS, ofc), and it will be launching very soon!

Here is a quick preview of how the command output looks in action:

The Ask: Looking for Servers & VM Sponsors!

To make this launch as comprehensive and useful as possible, and to include lesser-known servers so it is mostly available and does not show busy, I want to expand our current server selection. I am looking for providers (or members?) who are interested in:
1. Sharing an existing public iperf3 server you already host.
2. Setting up a public iperf3 server on your own infrastructure for the script. (this is what I prefer)
3. Sponsoring a high-speed VPS/VDS/Dedi (ideally on a 10G link, or at least 2.5G) for us to host a dedicated iperf3 daemon.

Requirements/Preferences:
- Dual-stack (IPv4 + IPv6) is highly preferred.
- Sponsored nodes will be credited with your custom provider/friendly name on the website!

Preferred Locations

While any location worldwide is welcome, below are some preferences:

North America:
* Seattle
* Los Angeles
* Dallas
* Anywhere in Florida
* Ashburn
* New York
* Toronto

Europe:
* Amsterdam
* London
* Frankfurt
* 1 location in the Nordic region
* 1 location in Western Europe

Nice to have (but impossible for high BW):
* 1 location in South America
* 1 location in West Asia
* Japan
* Hong Kong
* Singapore
* India

If you are a provider with high-speed bandwidth looking to collaborate, please drop a comment below or shoot me a PM!

I know there is an existing thread, but created a new one for visibility and since it is a request.

    Thanks for sharing!
    I checked this a few days back, most are not good enough or working, or too overloaded, hence looking for some lesser-known ones

  • The ones I use (Fortinet, Datapacket, Leaseweb) are very reliable and always working.
    This project aims to remove nodes that has less than 90% uptime.

    Yes they are good, but it's mostly busy, plus only leaseweb has v6 support

    Hello, we can sponsor you a node with a 2.5G connection in Tampa Florida. You can DM me for more details

    I might be able to host one. Is there a hardware requirement for this in terms of CPU or Ram? Do you have any ideas what the bandwidth usage would be like?

    Honestly, not too sure.
    I think if it is a modern CPU like the Xeon Scalable, 1 core should be enough.
    Bandwidth would depend on how many people will actually use this feature, tho at least initially I would think 10-15TB would be a good number.

    If Maidenhead is suitable drop me a dm, I have space on my private node, I could probably allow a 5Gbps connection on there

    You can use ours from

    They are not overloaded and they are all working @sh97
