I guess the first thing people will be concerned about is entering their ssh key on some website. Is it self-hostable?

I agree, giving root credentials to some website is a big no-no, sorry. I'll rather install myself using one of the tried and true methods. @OP will probably find enough interested users though. There's enough people not caring a whole lot about what runs on their boxes.
