    @Chunkserve
    Please could you look at ticket #UBX-249644.
    VPS went offline one week ago and ticket has remained unresolved for a few days now. Can you help to find a solution?

  • Ya mine is offline once again.

    Its not usual for such a long downtime on my side (client for 1 and a half years) ...

    Reading that some people have their VPSs down for days scares the shit out of me...

    My ticket: #UTS-199187

    It shouldn’t! Backups are a core of buying cheap VPS”s no data is safe unless it’s in more than one place!

    I have backups, several of them. Its not a matter of losing data. That i'm well protected against. I have everything deployed with podman quadlets and k8s, so in that regard is not an issue.

    Having to take a drastic measure as to give up on a provider to deploy everything on another , is not an easy decision. Its not money related, its just that their service has been really good the past 1 and a half years.

    Had i chosen to search for another provider, "wasting" time finding out the right one , hoping the deployment didn't get flagged and having to wait for manual approval, etc. i would probably still be at this moment finishing configs and reinstating services from backups, fortunately, after posting here they solved it quickly.

    Lets hope i can go 1 and a half years more without such long downtime.

    Hey,
    replied. Your VPS is not comming up, because of the incorrect ISO URL you provided on the panel. This is not a node issue. Please try removing it (or if you want I can do that) and it will start :)

    @Chunkserve Ticket #GCI-785518
    Hello, I submitted a request for an affiliate commission payout on May 1. On May 4, you replied that there would be a slight delay and that you would get back to me by tomorrow or the day after at the latest! However, I have not received any response from you to date. Today is May 19—20 days have passed, and you still haven’t processed it!
    Please reply as soon as possible. Thank you very much!

    I have not received a response to my ticket for over a month and a half.
    I am really having trouble because you have not restored your router settings after the power outage.

  • "Think before you buy" and "if something is too good to be true" are entirely correct for this thread...

    Basically, the VPS is OK. Ish.

    The problems:

    1. ChunkServe isn't capable of dealing with the tickets. It takes way too long to get a response.
    2. ChunkServe has issues with his hosts; they have some errors on it so misusing customers cause problems for his other customers. Who then try to file a ticket and see (1)
    3. ChunkServe doesn't monitor his hosts enough. So the things from (2) aren't detected, take too much time to be resolved, and lead to customers filing more tickets as necessary. See (1).
    4. ChunkServe doesn't have time enough to do everything himself. So the lack of (3) leads to (2) which again lead to (1)

    All in all: ticketresponse is very slow, VPSes are not to be trusted for normal use, if you consider ChunkServe: go somewhere else and see if this thing is around in a couple of years, and maybe by then the issues have been solved.

    Here we are again. My laziness to migrate somewhere else is the only thing keeps me from asking for the refund

    Hey, no issue on the node/our side now. Servers are working, there was nor is any ourage. I restarted the libvirt process for your VM and it is booting. Please check it now.

    Lol... I think @randvell is/was on the same node as I am. Since yesterday, VPS was unresponsive, and after a full power cycle it responded for exact 11 seconds, then it was gone again.

    So saying that there is no issue, is only because you've done something as a maintainer that we, as users, can't do. Just like someone going outside in the middle of the night and stating that it's not very sunny or hot when you looked.

    As i wrote in my posts, my overall experience was great for 1 and half years, which is nothing short of incredible given the price i paid (Special LET promotion), i bought many chickens on LET since 2022, and theirs has been the best price/quality ratio so far. Not the best overall, for those I had to pay double their average quotes.

    The issue is , a straight 14 hour downtime is very considerable, some people report 2 , 3 days, and when attended it took them 5 minutes to solve it.

    I do believe they have potential, and I hope they strive to reach it. I'm still a happy customer and won't judge based on one incident given their amazing track record , personally speaking of course.
