[Avoid] PerfectIP - Stealth 30% Price Hike with ZERO Notice on BF Deals

I want to warn the community about Perfect International, Inc (PerfectIP) and their predatory business tactics. If you are considering their services, please read this first.

The Situation

I have a Black Friday 2025 server (AMD EPYC 7452, 32 Cores) for $99.99/mo. On May 10, I received an invoice for the original $99.99. On May 15—just 2 days before the due date—they stealthily changed the EXACT SAME invoice to $129.99.

ZERO NOTICE

There was absolutely no email announcement or 30-day warning. They just edited the active invoice 48 hours before the deadline.

The "Insulting" Solution

When I complained, they refused to honor the original price and tried to upsell me to a "cheaper alternative": an AMD EPYC 7443P (24 Cores) for $119.99.

The Math

  • My current deal: 32 Cores @ $99.99
  • Their "solution": 24 Cores @ $119.99

They are asking me to pay $20 MORE per month for 8 FEWER cores (a 25% spec downgrade). This is a textbook "Bait and Switch." They lure you in with BF deals and then hike the price less than 6 months later without warning.

Timeline of Events

  • May 10: Received initial invoice #6505-5648478 for $99.99.
    Initial Invoice

  • May 15: Received a payment reminder, but the amount was stealthily changed to $129.99 on the SAME invoice.
    Stealth Hike

  • May 16 (Today): Received their support response—confirming the 30% hike and trying to upsell me to a downgraded 24-core plan for $119.99.
    Support Response

  • May 17 (Tomorrow): DUE DATE.

They waited until 24 hours before the deadline to give me a final refusal, leaving me with zero time to migrate my data. This is a hostage tactic to force a payment.

@perfectip I expect you to honor the original agreement of $99.99 for this Black Friday promotional plan.

Yes, I have all my data backed up and I'm worried they will just stop my machine.

If the host didnt mention recurring prices, then its on you to renew or not.

did PerfectIP claimed its recurring BF deal?
Even though some hosts like to increase prices next year.

  • zedzed Member

even if recurring its probably not forever and seems like he got it for 5 months? the lack of notice is shitty but shrug.

If he had notified me 30 days in advance, of course I would not choose to renew, but he first issued a bill for $99, and then directly changed the bill to $129 two days before the renewal deadline without notifying me. I think this is problematic.

PerfectIP only started to be active in lowendtalk in 2025, so there is only a bf deal in 2025. But I think the problem is still as mentioned in my post. They directly modified the issued bill without any notice. If I hadn't asked, I wouldn't have known why the bill amount had changed.

    (Potential) factors:

    • the price was not recurring from the beginning
    • the current market situation i.e. their own cost may really have risen considerably

I don't see you in a strong position. But depending on whether and how they react here your thread may lead to consequences for them.

Last but not least you do have an invoice over $99, so make it their problem by paying that $99 invoice and just ignoring what they wrote later because in most jurisdiction it's the invoice that counts.

The BF offer didn't clarify if it was recurring or not, but I've paid $99 for 5 months straight. Even if their costs really went up, they shouldn't edit an existing invoice from $99 to $129 just 2 days before the deadline without any notice.

I actually can't pay the original $99 invoice like you suggested because they modified it in their system. It's $129 or nothing now.

I think what Hetzner does is normal—give people notice before you change prices. Stealth-editing an active invoice at the last minute is just bad business.

If people here think this is acceptable, then I'll just take the hit. I'm just posting this so prospective customers know: PerfectIP's BF deals are short-term bait. If you need a server with long-term discounted pricing, don't consider them.

    (a) you seem to have mistaken me, I'm not against you, (b) AFAIK an invoice can not be simply changed: What they did is a mistake and highly likely legally questionable, and (c) if you pay the original invoice ($99) and they terminate the server anyway you do have two - not mutually exclusive! - options, namely to dispute or demand a refund -and/or- sue them.

I've only ever seen the hall of shame. I didn't know a hall of fame existed.

Tells a lot about routed IPv6 deployment ratio across LET providers

Editing an active invoice 48 hours before the deadline is unacceptable. It totally breaks my trust in them. This provider will be on my blacklist. Thanks for sharing.

Yes. The list of providers missing IPv6. Saves you from having to disable it.

Got same issue, they increased the price for the dedicated server I have used for ~3 years. I didn't notice this until I saw this post, they have zero notification. I also tried to contact via ticket and email, and they are very indolent, avoid answer questions.
