hostbilby review bilbycore value vps

I got hostbilby value vps - bilbycore (1vCore, 4GB DDR4 RAM, 20GB SSD) for 3USD/month and I have been using it for running few docker containers from approx 25 days now and I am judging it from my use case. Performace is good for that price, I would say really good, no CPU steal and no IO wait.

No downtime till now, will update uptime details after few months. Network to India is pretty good, I have 150Mbps fiber connection in home, when I used wireguard speed was almost always above 125Mbps rarely used to dip below that. Support has been good too! I did not face any technical issues so cant comment on that but I had few account related queries like when I lost access to my 2FA and backup code, support was very quick in helping me restore access to my account.

    Thanks for all the love fam!! I wish we could do some flashers - but spare hardware is being reprioritised for some fun upcoming stuff. That will definitely be cause to celebrate with dealz!

    We do still have some dedi stock with deals floating around!

    Bought on impulse a little over a year ago, no complaints. PA has been rock solid. The few times I had to interact with customer support have been a pleasure.

    TinyDedi dealz when?

    As an aside... I hope that when dealz time comes, you take additional precautions against folks with more time on their hands than any modicum of sense.

    I would hate seeing you deal with the same bs labze has had to just recently.

    Yeah it's pretty sad that an honest provider can't just present value and have a symbiotic relationship without violation etc.

    I always do my best to provide options that are good deals, but don't attract too much riff raff - but it's tough given the race to the bottom on price and the fact that consumer culture has driven us all to want more for less to the point of detriment.

    Here's hoping I can continue to strike the balance and maintain reasonable value on both sides.

    Yes the race to bottom on price has been derailing hosting industry lately. Even I enjoy the guilty pleasure of 7$ deals.

    Here's hoping I can continue to strike the balance and maintain reasonable value on both sides.

    Come on:
    Iphone on start cost $99 ($199 unlocked) -> now >$1000
    xiaomi phones cost was $200 -> now >$1000
    ddr5 5600 sodimm ram ~year ago $200 for 96gb -> now >$1500
    1 dollar coffee -> ~$10
    my cheapest regular flight for 3 peoples $300 5y ago -> $450 3y ago -> $600 last year -> now $800+
    All subscriptions every 1-2 years hike up.
    Fu*king plastic bottle for water cost from $15.
    And more than million cases.

    Big companies shows hundreds billions of profit and than prices rise up, again, because of ... [trump, oil, pandemic, Iraq / Iran / Ukraine / barabejan (c) trump, etc. (come up with your own reason)] What's wrong with this world.

    Sorry, that's not about you, but I feels like from my born every new day is more expensive than before. :D :'(

    I fully agree with all the examples, but my point is within the hosting industry, so many expect the world for free, because for them it’s just a click like it is when buying on Amazon. 15 years ago, nobody expected their ticket get answered within an hour for a $3/m service. But this want it now thing as well as expect it cheap thing is more what I’m meaning.

    As for your examples, all great ones where those industry’s have hiked far over inflation and salaries. But we feed into it because many keep buying (except for the essentials of course).

    It’s a tough one as many exiting customers are already on promotions, so we still need to have some margin in the deal to not deadpool - in the case someone is upgrading or renewing etc.

    But for additional services, we can definitely do!

    • Deadpool deals**: –?% margin

    * Strict criteria: Community member with good track record e.g didn't sell their account, hadn't caused IP block damages, etc (cost: 1-2 minutes browsing account history, minimal history-> outright reject )
    **Similar with the criteria above. Raffle entry by giving comments with predetermined characteristic e.g existing customer, thanks exceed certain point, popularity contest like provider poll -> scoop 80th percentile

    • Community special*: 10~20% margin
    • Deadpool deals**: –?% margin

    * Strict criteria: Community member with good track record e.g didn't sell their account, hadn't caused IP block damages, etc (cost: 1-2 minutes browsing account history, minimal history-> outright reject )
    **Similar with the criteria above. Raffle entry by giving comments with predetermined characteristic e.g existing customer, thanks exceed certain point, popularity contest like provider poll -> scoop 80th percentile

    Thanks for sharing!! I’ll take this away for some thought and see what we can make sense of in time for next round of stock coming online!

    Yeah. There's recurring theme I observed:

    Good (or deadpool ) deals -> scalped -> Host prohibit service transfer or for a fee -> selling account (for profit) -> host loses "income"
    So, my suggestion is to reduce scalpers ability -> raffle with requirements. Then, set higher margin to those scalpers, because they're nasty customer who abused resources and ticket system.
    Also, if community special/deals are going to be transferred, require the recipient account to fulfill the requirements (excluding popularity contest) (fees paid by the recipient account)
