Looking for managed or self-hostable Nextcloud provider, US location, Mexico latency, 5–10 users
Hey everyone,
I’m looking for a good Nextcloud setup and wanted to see if any providers here have offers that fit.
Use case:
Managed Nextcloud preferred, but I’m also open to VPS/dedi self-hosting.
5–10 users to start.
Around 1–2TB shared storage total, not 1TB per user.
Need online document collaboration: Collabora or OnlyOffice.
Desktop sync/local sync is important.
Good performance and “snappy” web UI matters a lot.
Users are mostly in Mexico, so I’m looking for US datacenter locations with low latency. Dallas, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Ashburn, etc. would be interesting.
I’d prefer to avoid Europe for the main server because of Collabora latency.
What I’m trying to beat/compare against:
LibreCloud Business: roughly $11.99/mo promo / $19.99 regular for 2TB / 25 users with Collabora and US location. Have found some not so good reviews and I don't want to risk it.
I looked at SystemFreaks, but pricing is $8/user/mo, so that gets expensive quickly. (Although they offer amazing prices for S3-compatible, so I might go with them if I don't find any other providers apart from Hippius)
HostBrr StorageBox is interesting for cheap backup/storage, but my speed testing was only around 6 MB/s download on a 100 Mbps connection, so I’m hesitant to use that as primary storage. For personal backups it's pretty good and I've used them extensively
.
ServaRica is great, I love them, but you can start feeling the latency sadly! Might still consider them anyway.
What I’m looking for:
Option A — Managed Nextcloud:
1–2TB shared storage
5–10 users
Collabora/OnlyOffice included
US location
Backups included or available
Ideally under $15–20/mo
Option B — Self-host VPS/dedi:
Enough CPU/RAM for Nextcloud + Collabora/OnlyOffice
1–2TB usable storage
US location with good latency to Mexico
Reasonable bandwidth
Ideally under $10–15/mo, or close to that if backups are included, but can definitely go higher for great service. If you have reseller plans that'd be even better, as I have multiple interested parties in Mexico that could use such a service and would love to package it on top of my current e-mail/web-hosting offerings.
My main concern with self-hosting is backup cost. If I need to add a second storage provider just for backups, the price can quickly stop being competitive.
Does anyone here offer something like this, or have recommendations from real experience? I care more about consistent performance and latency than just the cheapest headline storage number.

Hi
I know @SolidVPS offers both Storage VPS servers and Nextcloud Offerings in Tampa, Florida, USA globalping result. Their regular prices are quite high but maybe they could offer you a custom deal.

Alternatively, if you are okay with going the promo offer route (no refunds, only yearly payments and a few other restrictions), Greencloud ( @NDTN ) in Utah (globalping result) or Arizona (globalping result) is definitely one of the cheapest storage options available:

We can make a one off installation for you and hook it up with our object storage if you like, the current storage promo is $36/TB/Year
If you are able to stretch the budget, these are good options.
They are NVMe Storage so a lot faster than HDD.

Thanks for the recommendations! I'm still waiting for some more offers but they're all pretty solid
