sweet release
It's special...

my HD vps has been restored to default debian 12
Nice...
I still havent gotten a reply since yesterday.
Not going to backup my data to it again from scratch, if this is broken and lost like some months ago after the failed ransom attack.
I'm mad.

It is written:
We are no longer offering new Shared Hosting and VPS packages
Existing services will continue to operate as usual for now
So... Don't expect any up time
- "as usual for now"
"Existing services will continue to operate as usual for now"? What's that supposed to mean? Existing services are not working dear staff of @HostSlick — chaotic company who can't honour customers!
Now let's assume the hosting plans are working — these plans are currently down for a few months now, but let's assume they're working. What is "for now" supposed to mean in such context when you @HostSlick sold shared hosting plans as lifetimes!? You must honour your lifetimes! There is no "for now" in lifetimes, especially in extremely small shared hosting plans which are easy to throw onto some old server! Or maybe you are a scammer who wants to run away because you figured out you were extremely bad at handling initial lifetime investments.
I believe HostSlick as as a legit company has passed on, it's no more, it has ceased to be, it's expired and gone to meet the final accountants; it's a late and a stiff company, bereft of life and activity as it rests in peace. If this company would have been banned properly on LET it would have been properly buried by this community and pushing up the daisies of memories. HostSlick has run down its curtain and joined the choir invisible of internet as an ex-hosting-provider. The email messages are just sent by a scammer at this point.
To customers out there: backup your data if you still have it and run away from this mess!
I wanted to continue the 5TB storage box for a bit more but I guess I should just find other providers instead if they already have intention to deprecate the VPS packages and kick customers out
Yeah, i really don't get why people keep putting up with this nonsense. Well, at least outside of lifetime plans - you can't really cancel those (well, you can but don't!!).

Well, this is LET but still...
This is giving me virmach vibes..
"1) The operation could not be completed" - upon trying to boot the VM
One of my server is the same I think it's dead
Still down. tickets are not being responded too.
And no ticket response for 48 hours.
not ticket response for months
question: HostSlick going downhill?
answer: yes
Every day when this thread gets pushed to the top and I see Hostlick is still going downhill, I always think to myself "must be a bloody big hill".
I was just thinking exactly that.
Not defending Hostslick, but my vps is running fine except for a few days downtime a couple of weeks ago. I would not buy another vps or run anything critical there though, it's pretty obvious that Hostslick does not care about vps's which they pretty much officially admitted.
I get it if hostslick wants to pivot business to dedicated servers, then should at least refund the existing users for the remaining time. if he doesn't do that it will cast a shadow on HS credibility.
he usually does and very generous at it.
vps tickets are not replied to so its clear they are a burden and he is moving to dedicated business.
@HostSlick if your reading this i hope you are well and had plenty of sex... then please clean up the table like you always do.
Did you just assume HostSlick is some kind of a gentleman cleaning the table after having sex?
So far services are down AND tickets are without answer.
my history with HostSlick he was a gentleman with me.
i always remind him to take showers
my vps was down, opened ticket, unusual no response for days ... so i deleted it.
i think he really should clean the table...
deadpool incoming?
Just because some users had cheap yearly VPS deals does not mean the rest of us providers and resellers of bare metal are having any issues. I and many others I personally know from group chats have over 100 bare metal servers with him without problems. I am responding strictly regarding your Deadpool comment
He has moved on from those types of services, and if you have any issues, you should get in touch with him directly.
I got a refund (and quite early), so I'm not really complaining, but...
"He has moved on from those types of services" is not a justification for cancelling everyone's VPS's only a couple of months after renewal, but still not having issued refunds 3 months after. That action would be typical of a provider that's deadpooled, not just pivoted to something they find more interesting.
If he really wanted to get rid of VPS as a business segment, he should have announced that back in October / November when the massive chunk of sales he got from the BF sales a couple of years ago were due for renewal. His VPS problem could have be completely gone without all this hassle if he'd done that.
If he hadn't made that decision back at the end of last year, he should have instead honoured his obligations to everyone until the end of the paid period, or apologised and automatically issued refunds.
Just their attitude of deleting tickets and ignoring requests from customers, because, even if you're on a cheap VPS plan, you're still their customer should be a warning for any provider using them.
fair point. however i will wait for your tickets to be deleted one day.
I have 2 servers with them. The 3TB server never came back online, assuming dead. But my 5TB server actually went back working immediately after skylink upstream resolved their issue. I thought I'd renew the 5TB server because I quite liked it, but when they clearly don't want to support VPS service anymore I think maybe it's time to go...
