I'm so blind to flashing ads that I don't notice them, as if they are not there. I only avoid being tracked, if the ads are not too intrusive I will not notice them.
LET ads are not too intrusive.
nope
We have vastly different tolerance levels.
The last time my filtering broke the entire right side of the browser window was a stack of flashing jumping wiggling shit that gave me instant brain seizures.
It's basically geocities-tier shit.
edit: that was horrible, but here https://files.catbox.moe/zx043k.gif
Can someone pin me down?> @zed said:
Yeah, the ads on the right don't bother me much either. At least not enough to do anything about them (yet). I am not sure if there are other ads on the site since if there are i don't see them.
I just learned that a few weeks ago, myself. Someone else mentioned it in another thread.
I'm also using @DeadlyChemist Firefox extension for LET, for highligting posts from specific users, and ignoring others.

good to know, unpinned the annoying "giveaway" thread
I was on the verge of vibe-coding one of those tbh. Good to know that extension exists.
I've got a side project where I can see myself eventually building a whole new standalone LET front end. It started with just wanting an instant search with good UX to quickly go through results without opening links to comments/posts, but after using that a little I've realized how much better all other interactions with the site could be.
We could dismiss pinned threads!?!? I've been a member since 2019 and this is the first time I learnt of it
Yeah, its kinda random. Once upon a time i figured this out by being a dumbass and clicking around in some kind of zoned out stupor. Its entirely one way though. Once you decide to unpin something there is no going back. Your decision is final.
Well, I dont want them to come back either! Most are threads that I dont care about. If something new pops up and get pinned, maybe like black friday mega thread, sure.

thanks for mention again
yeah, every time i use LET without it i can't even find my own replies or mentions
i'm actually thinking of expanding it
the block is sooo good in megathreads when you are beeing offered a 128mb vps with 1/10 core for $99,99/m
it's open source, feel free to make a PR and i'll happily merge and upload to mozilla
it benefits the whole LET community
Sadly mobile version looses so many benefits of desktop version.
wow, you can actually unpin all of this shit, nice.
