Can we cut down on the pinned topics?
There is currently an excessive number of pinned topics. At least half of them unnecessary. This is annoying, particularly on mobile where there are no non-pinned topics above the fold.
Time for some housecleaning?

Comments
This should be pinned
You can unpin/dismiss them yourself.
just click the button and unpin em, i don't have any~
Admins this is a very important topic, please pin it.
I'm in the habit of not even looking at the pinned topics... That's how I missed the provider polls, and the results for them.
Pinned
Ok I mean if not because there's too many security issues probably we dont need so many pins
@FAT32 we need a dedicated thread on CVE
Are there any pins with FAT32 sold on LET?
mate ricks pin it
can you imagine even caring what staff think is important, come on lad
tbh we dont need a single pin, just let comments decide what's important, rules are in navbar already
hashtag fuck the pins
* except the megathread
How did I never know this?
LET newb: No ad block, no uBlock, just raw dogging on light mode. Just copy/pastes yabs results without formatting. Not a care in the world. Room temperature IQ.
LET pro: Ad block, uBlock (60+ fucking telemetry, elements and other BS trackers), dark mode always, custom ublock rules to remove retarded sidebar ads that are designed to look like forum components). Knows markdown. <--I was here.
LET Expert: Personal housekeeping and dismissing a slew of pinned threads that were always annoying to me and less likely to be seen by me since I always immediately scroll past this section.
What else am I missing?
@AlteredParadox Do you got one of those custom thread hider? I guess we should make alternate LET front-end
I don't hide them, but they don't take up all that much room either... maybe I could add that tho
Thanks, I didn't know you could do this. Very unintuitive. Whoever designed that UI should receive a swift kick to the balls.
but what about the bilohbucks?
Also isn't vanilla basically dead now? Time to migrate to something else that isn't quite so awful!?
i don't think a single of currently pinned post was paid for
I guess ServerVerify and ServerHost pins benefit ownership though
but 7 pins threads is insanity, literally no need, if they're interesting they'll stay on top if not they won't
I like how not only is the settings button hidden until you hover over it, it also only contains one thing. Would be much more obvious with a crossed out pin icon instead.
i dont
An issue with them is that pinned topics are always the same, and there is nothing interesting in them, so at this point I just automatically skip over when loading LET and looking at new stuff to read. So when there's anything actually new and worthwhile there, such as a Provider Poll, I am very likely to miss it.
As such, pinning reduces visibility, not increases it. Fortunately indeed unpinning via the gear icon helps, such a relief, the front page is now clean and immediately useful again (with an ad blocker).
Wow, I didn't know about the thing as well, just un-pinned a lot of these announcements.
Also, they will only be unpinned when you refresh the page even when you press the button and the gear icon only opens when your cursor is on that thread.
Not really the best of UI/UX... :-(
just make pinned topics flash as much as the ads on the side
This.
We don't usually pin discussions but multiple users were starting threads on the same topic, so I thought pinning the existing ones would make them more obvious that such discussions already exist.
I already un-pinned everything, except community rules and selling rules.
wait what? ads?
i saw these once, because i opened LET on a browser without adblock. just a few seconds and i was permanently blinded
IP related thread should be showed for providers only.
