7950X or 9950X VPS in New York/Miami
I was previously running an 8 dedicated core, 32GB RAM, 9950X-based server from MadCityServers in New York for $25/month. Recently, it appears the provider was hacked and my server has been deleted.
I’ve tried reaching out, but they are no longer active on LowEndTalk, their previous email contacts are no longer working, and I haven’t been able to get any response.
I’m looking for a similar deal if possible (or worse), ideally:
- Around 8 dedicated CPU cores
- 24/32GB RAM
- At least 200GB storage
- Unlimited or very high bandwidth preferred
- Budget: $35/m

Well, first you request 8 dedicated 9950X cores for <$35. It's a dream asking for half of a 9950X for that little. You're better off trying to find a cheap (but double your current budget) dedicated server from someone like Fiberstate or OVH that's a little bit older but still a high performance CPU. The deal you had before wasn't dedicated cores anyway.
I am too low or out of stock for most locations either way. And with new hardware setup I usually don't give big discounts since it would take a very long time to see a return with the memory/flash prices now.
Dedicated servers are better for what you want really. OVH Eco has $52 Ryzen 3600X. Fiberstate also has instant deploy Ryzen 5700G in stock for $50 right now in the west.
Previous deal from MadCity was indeed dedicated cores if thats what you mean, understandable though, I'm also fine with like 6 at that price point if possible just anything really.

the host I used before, MadCityServers, they apparently got hacked, a bunch of nodes got deleted then decided to rebrand & go no contact.

People keep chasing impossibly cheap pricing, then somehow get shocked when the provider disappears, rebrands, and repeats the cycle.
Last time it was “the owner died.”
This time it’s “we got hacked.”
I wonder what the next rebrand’s excuse will be.
The reason I'm here is to avoid going with them again. Whether they were hacked or not isn’t really relevant to me. I’m just trying to find a server that fits my budget, and I’m okay with increasing what I spend, which is what I’ve already been doing.
