Any chance of this deal coming back?
Intel Xeon X5670 / 32GB RAM / 500GB SSD + 1TB SATA / 1 Ipv4 / 1Gbps Unmetered / Price $14.95/m
They did say, one-time deals....
But anyway, why do you even want a Xeon X5670? That's barely above toaster-class nowadays. Some Avatons are going to be doing better performance. Cheap is cheap, yes, but at a certain point you have to ask yourself what you're even paying for and whether it is better to pay just a bit more for better specs.
I am running this 14.95 dedi and yes, performance is very humble.
The X5670 is definitely an older CPU, no argument there. But we still get a surprising amount of demand for these nodes because they fill very specific use cases extremely well. Not everything needs modern high‑end compute. For small landing pages, CDN edge nodes, storage boxes, monitoring, proxies, and any workload that isn’t CPU‑intensive, these machines are more than enough and remain very cost‑effective.
So while they’re not meant to compete with today’s performance CPUs, they still serve a purpose and offer great value for the right type of deployment.
Just for the record, I'm not dissing your product. I'm running a dual 2680v3 from a promo you guys ran a few months ago which some might consider to be a dinosaur as well. But the X5670 is painfully slow and will arguably underperform relative to a Xeon 1230v3 which is not much more expensive on the promos you and other providers run and will work for the same edge node scenarios.
The value proposition between a $15/month X5670 vs a $19/month 1230v3 is going to favour the 1230v3.
Are there any deals tody?
I am getting rid of $15/m dedi. There is $25 transfer fee. Let me know if you want it. Specs are on page 1, loc is Tampa. Prefer to give it away to reputable members of LET.
Might need to dump mine;
