Do they have DDoS protection?
@serverpoint has
4 vCPUs, Intel E5v4 at 2.1Ghz
8 GBs of RAM
100 GBs SSD storage
10,000 GBs/mo data transfer
1 IPv4 IP included
1gbps network port
Private VLAN included
DDoS protection included
For only $5/mo

@advinservers
They have vps in Johor across the border from SG.
Open a ticket and ask for their NeoProtect DDoS Protected IP addon
Neoprotect no longer provides DDoS protection?
The cpu clock speed is too low, I need something better to host minecraft servers
OVH
what are you saying?
https://neoprotect.net/pricing
Sorry i meant neoprotect no longer provides remote prot right?
What cpu does ovh uses for its vps lineup? Can't see any specifications on their website
I believe they use some old Xeon E5 v3. If you were to go OVH, I would just get their Ryzen dedicated servers.
While we don't specifically specialize in Minecraft hosting, the idea that "2.1GHz is too low" is an oversimplification.
Clock speed alone is not what determines server performance. CPU architecture, IPC (instructions per clock), cache, pipeline efficiency, and overall system load matter as well.
A Minecraft server is also not rendering the game client; it's primarily handling world simulation, networking, entities, and plugin logic.
In our experience, the biggest performance issues usually come from poorly coded plugins, excessive entity counts, large view distances, or heavily modded setups, rather than raw clock speed alone.
We've successfully hosted Minecraft servers on Xeon platforms for many years, including older generations of Xeons.
That said, we also offer newer hardware options including 3.5GHz Xeon Gold systems and AMD EPYC Milan processors for customers who want higher single-thread performance or heavier workloads.
I've hosted Minecraft for like 15 years (and I ran large communities), there's definitely some Minecraft setups that won't run well on slower CPUs. Ever tried running a modded server with 15 people?
I even upgraded some older i9-9900K's two or three years ago because people had issues with modded servers. After upgrading to newer Ryzen 7000's and 12900K's the issues went away.
But of course this only really applies to servers that aren't just made for two or three people.
You are kinda right but I need something equivalent to AMD EPYC 7B13 at around 3.0Ghz clock speed to comfortably run modded servers. The provider I'm using prices around 48 usd for 64gb ram eypc 7b13 12vCore vps but unfortunately no DDoS protection
No I believe they still do. Just need to contact advin support to purchase the $5 addon. It is only basic ddos protection not sure how well it will do for you.
No they don't unfortunately, they discontinued it
I think it would helpful to know what others are using. It would help you figure out what host can do it.
A 7B13 is the slightly slower, OEM version of the 7763 (same as what we use at some of our locations).
It's a good CPU. It's 2.25Ghz though not 3.0; it can accelerate to 3.4Ghz, but that isn't always the case. The Xeon E5v4 we use can accelerate to 3.6Ghz. But of course, the EPYC can compute more instructions per cycle.
Just about all CPUs in the last 20 years can "turbo" /"boost".
For a base frequency of 3.0Ghz in the AMD Milan range, look for this table: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epyc#EPYC_7003_series
But the higher the frequency, the less cores. And in our industry, we need more cores in our hypervisors, so you might have a hard time finding it.
We do have Xeon Golds at a base frequency of 3.4Ghz, boosting to 4.0Ghz. But we sell those a lot more expensive due to having less cores.
If Ryzen is acceptable, we offer that in Singapore (100gbps DDoS protection)

Is it possible to test out the Intel E5v4 plans to see if they hold up well for hosting minecraft servers?
