NameCrane - Fraud Lab Proxy

pi_tompi_tom Member

@Francisco

Just tried to open a new account and ran into this issue about being on a proxy.

I do not personally use a proxy/VPN, but i do use T-Mobile 5G business internet service, which does use CGNAT and looking at the results on IP2Proxy it shows proxy type RES.

I did receive a support email when asking about this [Ticket ID: CRANE-23198]

In the email it said I could try to open another new account this time using Crypto or try from my mobile device.

I can do either of these. Mobile shows no proxy or I can sign up using crypto.

Not sure if it's better to try and get the first issue resolved or sign up via alt method. I don't want to appear that I'm trying to side step any security issues.

    How would you be sidestepping security issues if support actually told you to do it? Besides labeling an IP used for CGNAT as a proxy (probably due to one of its users but still) is a seriously blunt tool anyways.

    You can pay with a vpn on, just it has to be crypto or Alipay. We have to cover our asses for chargebacks.

    I’ll grab your ticket shortly :) I’ll give you a premier bumps

    Also, I'm pretty sure paying with cryptocurrency is usually more private than card or paypal. So the current namecrane policy makes sense in my opinion.

    Unless customer uses a virtual crypto card - doesn't make much sense if provider already supports crypto.
