Scaleway Price Increase Notice

DejavuMoeDejavuMoe Member

A transparent update on Scaleway pricing | Scaleway Blog

  • New pricing for select products will officially take effect on June 1, 2026.

  • This adjustment is primarily driven by global macroeconomic pressures, including widespread inflation, an ongoing hardware crisis (specifically the soaring costs of storage and memory), and an increasing global shortage of IP resources.

  • Scaleway emphasizes that this is not a blind, "one-size-fits-all" price hike. After absorbing costs internally and maintaining price stability for the past three years, they conducted a detailed, item-by-item evaluation of their product portfolio. The current price adjustments apply only to specific products directly impacted by rising costs (including select compute instances, GPUs, storage, public IP addresses, and Dedibox/Elastic Metal dedicated servers). Prices for products not included in this list will remain unchanged.

  • These moderate price adjustments are intended to ensure that Scaleway can continue to provide its customers—on a long-term and sustainable basis—with high-performance, highly secure, and exceptionally resilient cloud infrastructure services.

The biggest impact on me comes from the STARDUST1-S instance, which saw its price increase from €0.00015/hour to €0.0006/hour. For the same IPv6-only configuration—1 vCPU, 1GB RAM, and 1GB Storage—the price has risen from €0.138/month to €0.462/month (an increase of approximately 234%).

    Dear customer,

This is a first reminder regarding the upcoming transition from VC1, START1 & X64 to our DEV1 offers, which will occur on May 31, 2026. This transition will bring improved performance, scalability and compatibility with modern workloads. Indeed, new features and updates will be exclusive to newer virtual machines, allowing you to benefit from ongoing innovations.

    RIP my VC1S instance.

  • With a heavy heart, I have shut down my three €0.14/month STARDUST-S instances. They were once such adorable little "chickens," but now they are no longer cost-effective.

    Farewell, my friends. 👋😭🫱

  • Will my 0.4eur Scaleway invoice become 0.8eur now? Wow.

i think they follow us, since we explained the trick to create sub dollar chickens they raised the price by 100+%. Also they changed the baroque style dashboard which was one of my major critique, is now revamped and more business like instead of a whallala of bells and whistles.

Already ditch one of two of their stardust instances. Now would be good time as any I guess to say goodbye to stardust. Still had no time to move away my data @ their object storage though :(

Can you show me chicken under $1?

  • How do they handle billing for glacier storage when it adds up to pennies?

They ran a sale here on LET of "Start-2-S-SATA" for 1.99, since then gradually hiked to 3.44. This time it does not get an increase. And these are rare now, they have full Gbit up/down, unlike the current offer for 4.99, which only lists 250 Mbit (don't know if that's enforced, though).

    Speaking of which:

    Intel® C2350 (Avoton)
    RAM 4 GB
    1 x 1 TB HDD or 120 GB SSD
    250 Mbit/sec
    €4.99/month pre-tax
    €4.99 setup fee
    Paris or Amsterdam

Before I remember times when a 5-euro dedi was a hot commodity to hunt for. Now it's nearly always in stock.
