[URGENT] VPS on HostHatch is unreachable – reboot failed, console disconnected
Hi everyone,
I’m currently experiencing a critical issue with my VPS on HostHatch and would really appreciate any help.
I cannot access the server via SSH or terminal
I attempted to reboot the VPS, but it failed
The console status shows “disconnected”
I submitted a support ticket over 60 minutes ago, but haven’t received any response yet
This VPS is important for my work, so the downtime is quite urgent.
Has anyone encountered a similar issue before?
Could this be a node or network problem on their side?
Is there anything I can try from my end while waiting for support?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! 🙏

Probably not.
If VNC/console says disconnected then either there's a system issue or it could just be from your actual VPS being shut down/not booted. And you said a reboot fails, so you're out of luck until they respond.
If you're able to attach an ISO, boot into some form of rescue image and see if it boots with the ISO. If it doesn't then it's out of your control.
Damn, it’s Monday morning in my country, my whole company is waiting on me, and their response is taking too long. I’m starting to get really stressed.
location??
We recommend to activate you disaster recovery plan.
Don't expect an answer in few hours with Hosthatch, especially if you are using promotional plans.
So restore your backups elsewhere
If you are on promotional plan, then my best wishes to you.
If it is THAT critical, I think you should have had opted for some other host. I have hosthatch japan but I use it for testing purpose only.
Have you lost any millions yet?
Would be curious if its a promo or not
It's daily event, what urgent on this price?
Move your important workplace to AWS/Azure/GCP
I have had multi day outages with GCP and several hour outages with AWS. The idea that big cloud providers are automatically reliable is exactly what they want you to believe to get a lot of dollars.
If you need high availability, your infrastructure itself needs to be highly available, with redundancy across at least two datacenters. Don't rely on provider reputation alone
👍 Redundancy by design — Totally not @host_c tagline
(different host, different country/region, different upstream, multiple backups with PITR/WAL)

I purchased this VPS in 2023, and I see that the next billing is scheduled for the end of this year. Maybe they don’t want me to renew.
I'm sure they're very scared.
I’m running two Elasticsearch servers in different locations.
Unfortunately, Elasticsearch requires both nodes to be up to stay in sync. I mistakenly thought it would still work fine if one went down.
Luckily, I managed to switch the remaining server to a single-node setup.
How much is the renewal?
Next payment is due on 2026-12-07 for a total of $350.00.
$350.00 for 3 years
Hmm, so that's 2C+2vC,32G,400GB... Do I really need it? Hmm, 30 fumos/3 years
Just wait a few hours for the console to work again. Their panel is custom, and it's poorly made - to say the least. After provisioning, for 2 days I had the same issues. Even the ISOs they seem to mount it from some remote NFS, and it failed on me with I/O issues during install. Ended up 'dd' the image on the storage drive, reboot, install manually over ssh - dd my image back to the 20GB drive, profit. Later on the console started working again, at least.
This appears to be @hosthatch Black Friday 2023 :
6 CPU cores (200% dedicated, burstable up to 600%)
16 GB RAM
180 GB NVMe storage
20 TB bandwidth
$99 per year
(1.5X RAM, storage, and double bandwidth for 3 year payments)
20-25% surcharge for Singapore
If you cannot recover from backup, you can let the whole company take a 1-week vacation, it's good for morale.
Hope they can fix it. Support team replied my email

When asked, you should focus your answer on: Have you used VNC in HostHatch's Control Panel? Have you used emergency support in HostHatch's Control Panel? If not, you should do so; don't just criticize the service and let others misunderstand your intentions.
When you have to wait for some of time, do some push-ups, so you won't be wasting your time.
