One of my Wordpress site just got hacked with the message
"to recover your files, kindly send 0.1 BTC to bc1q9nh4revv6yqhj2gc5usncrpsfnh7ypwr9h0sp2 and tweet ty15b6TOTuBuzUhfypJeagHl4e2sAs26, then we will help u 
"
Funny thing is my friend also got hacked an hour ago with the same message.
Stupid of the hackers to be attacking pointless sites. I got -100 in my bank account and they want 0.1 BTC lol.
Good thing is I had a backup.
Anyone else also faced similar issue? I googled the message and same message is on many sites. So I am guessing it is a big hack.
I had no nulled plugins. Everything was purchased. but unfortunately, not regularly updated.
Site was hosted on cPanel whose license was expired so I haven't checked whether it is updated or not for a year at least.
Edit:i was anyway planning to shut the site down anyway. Was just hesitating. Thanks to the hackers for deciding for me.
