I kind of get the idea. Sending stuff back because its actually toddler XL (or whatever your preferred size may be) is annoying but then i also hate looking like a guy in a sack. Its one of those difficult decisions.

It's very common for the manufacturer to reduce the cutting pattern so they could get squeeze more item from the a single roll.
Sometime, it's so severe XL -> standard L

Yeah, i have seen this quite a bit too. Especially the cheap garbage brands just love the practice but if you are buying online you can never be 100% certain what to expect.

For me it usually comes down to either "i know this brand so i am (mostly) safe from surprises", "this deal is so good that it justifies possibly having to deal with a return" or "its pennies anyways so if it doesn't fit i will just give/throw it away".
