Looking for Storage VPS - 5TB HDD - $75/Year Budget
Hi everyone,
I'm currently in the market for an affordable and reliable Storage VPS. I am currently using services from host-c and layer7, and I’ve been very happy with both. However, Host-C is discontinuing the specific plan I'm on, and the service will end on April 30th. Therefore, I need to find a replacement as soon as possible.
Here are my specific requirements:
Location: No preference
CPU: 2 vCPU
RAM: 2GB - 4GB
SSD: 10GB+ (for the boot drive)
HDD: 5TB with redundancy (e.g., RAID 10; please provide details on HDD speeds/IOPS if possible)
Network: At least 15TB bandwidth @ 500Mbps
Budget: $75 / Year
Note: I am also open to a WTB (Want To Buy) for a Layer7 5TB plan if anyone is looking to offload their service/account.
If any providers have something that fits these specs, or if the community has any recommendations, I’d love to hear them.

Layer7 is more than double your budget.
I'm currently on a legacy Layer7 plan that costs €54/year for 5TB. So I know deals like this exist—I'm just looking for something similar or someone willing to sell a similar legacy VPS.

Infact those deals have existed. BUT finding one nowdays is like finding a full lottery KS-LE-B for free. Best option right now is HostBrr with block storage. Worth every cent, biggest bang for the buck. Depending on your usecase, PulsedMedia has / had (?) a sale for 1TB storage boxes. Have not tested them yet, not sure if you can stack them or order multiple ones.
If you don't mind the server being in the US, you can get 5TB of storage from Dedirock for $73. Just buy 2X 2TBs and 1X 1TB and they will stack them into one VPS for you:

fortunately we got a cancellation for a 10 TB plan for the FR location.
So theoretically i could give you a 5 TB plan there for 70,- EUR / year ( a bit discounted if you are already a customer ).

unfortunately we have no system to notify the customers about what ever ( maybe except globally if something is about their active product X subscribtion ).
What you could do is to open a ticket, that we will simply not close and this for hitting on it again and again as some kind of reminder.
There will be most probably some changes in the coming months, so maybe we can give another round of this kind of heavy discounted services for existing customers.

i would love to do that.
But aside of the fact that if i give it to you for this money, i would have to give it to other for this money aswell, i am in the situation that i will not do anything good for the company ignoring the current price hikes.
Its not like with us no harddisks are giving up in service so we have to replace it ( which is the major excuse of many other hosters to raise their prices for existing contracts / accounts / services ). We do actually not do that ( rising prices for existing contracts ) while of course we replace defective hardware ( and accept the bullet of increased prices for the replacement hardware ).
So while we already make no money with this kind of 5 TB = 5 EUR incl. server offer ( even before with the old prices ), we will make even less than no money with the new ones.
At some point we have to face the economical truth and just accept that fact that a 64 GB DDR5 REG ECC RAM is not 500-600 EUR anymore but now 2.5k. Similar with NVMe/Disk/...
And sad to say, customers who are searching now the nice deals have to face the truth that actually this 70 EUR / year that i offered to an existing customer ( new customer more like 80-90 EUR ) IS the current "making no money" deal price level.
So right now, please forgive me, but this 5 EUR thing is something that would be beyond a suicide mission. And i would love to do this business another some decades and not being forced to change prices after collecting some contracts/customers or just deadpool.
I hope for your understanding. But please save this thread link. If ever we are going into a new round of dead cheap stuff, i will make sure that you will get your share, even if you might actually will have missed it
