I'd recommend you reading this. So, on one hand I speculate that excess capacity will drove hw prices down. While the blogpost argued that the AI ecosystem are dependent on VC money and cannot generate enough cashflow

On the other hand, if the AI companies do fail ( hardly but some might ) then yes, we will have XYZ times 10 Software companies "vanish".
It is a Hype, just withe everything new, actually, with everything new that can make money, yet..... hype is one thing and economics always win eventually.... always. We shall see. I still think that it is too early to put a label on it for the moment.
