UK Non-London VPS
Hi, I am looking for VPS providers in the UK that are not located in London based data centres.
So far, I have identified:
- VM6 – advertising as Converty-based.
- Glitch Servers – advertising as Newcastle-based.
Does anyone know of any additional options?
I am particularly interested in facilities located in Wales or Scotland.
Thanked by 1VM6

Mine from KuroIT is in West Midlands. Great server
@kuroit @ManishPant has VPS servers in Redditch, UK:

I think I have seen Norwich on VM6's looking glass
@xHosts is in Maidenhead
Coventry, Redditch, and Wolverhampton are pretty popular UK locations.
I know Zare has dedicated servers in Edinburgh and Glasgow but don't know who does vps there.
@rsk has UK Coventry I guess.
Found this
This website looks like its from 2000s lol
https://www.uapeer.eu/
Looks to be Portsmouth https://ipinfo.io/37.220.10.228
https://servinga.com/cloud/vps-uk/
Looks to be in Manchester.
Clouvider is in Manchester
Hostinger is in Manchester
Virtono is in Manchester
Azure is in Cardiff if you really want that as a location
Ionos is in Worcester (I think?)
From my limited experience, I have noticed that a good number of companies advertise London as their location while actually providing services elsewhere. It's not great that they are misleading, but just something to keep in mind.
We Offer None london hosting in the UK

@AudioDoge We have Redditch (West Midlands) and East Anglia (Norwich) as Non-London Location.
Test IP:
West Midlands: 46.37.124.2
Norwich: 91.205.158.1
Hope you got your product !
Do you not like london?
PS: Bristol coming soon!
I have been a long time customer of @SmartHost (Wolverhampton) and @greencoludvps (Coventry). Also used @virtono (Manchester). Their VPS are rock solid and extremely stable. Highly recommended
so while one thing may be the location, the other is the network routes.
I would assume a lot of routes going via london, so most of the time different out of london locations will only add latency while routing thru the city...
(Manchester might be different if the provider uses a the local ix and have local connections to tier-1 upstreams or isps, etc. I would expect this with Clouvider but not all.)
Thanks for the mention. We do offer our AMD Ryzen 7950X lineup with nvme, ddr5 ram, 10gbit port and 5x free backups.
Looking Glass, IPs & Test Files
Coventry, UK 🇬🇧

Why Layer?
Thank you for this. I completely understand your point. I had assumed there would be some routing through London. One of the potential funders for my project requires demonstrating that there is not a heavy reliance on London-based companies and infrastructure. However, in practice, I believe a best effort is sufficient, such as using a data centre outside London as it not going to be looked at in technical detail too deeply.
I think you are right about Manchester as well and this is one of the locations I was considering. @virtono has been recommended a few times in this thread but looking at their website briefly I don’t think have any VPS avilable in this location.
There is another project I am considering and would it nice if it was contained inside Scotland completely.
Isn't virtono the one where locations move overnight? Like from Sydney to Miami? Or do I mix up providers here? So I would be careful about that...
Coventry might have some connections via Manchester as well if you go by a provider using e.g. UK Servers as base/upstream but for most I would think the routes meet in London. Esp. for locations like Norwich etc.
But if this is just a "on paper" fight, do as you please.
I do not know if there are any vps providers using e.g. Zare in Glasgow or Edinburgh. Estnoc claims to use pulsant dc in Scotland for their scotish vps, see here https://www.estnoc.ee/vps/scotland.html but I would first ask for a test ip and check the routes (would do that with every provider).
Correct. My PL and HU both ended up in DE
Are we talking the physical end point change or an ASN database issue?
Former, very likely.
The Sydney to Miami move was physical, as shown by latencies.
We can offer Manchester, UK.

We have them in Grantham, Lincolnshire

You correct, we do also have a Norwich location. Still need to get her up on LG though.

Pick a location, see which service providers are listed under Ecosystem, make your selection.
Out of interest, why?
In 99% of cases, your network will end up routing via London in any event unless you're lucky enough to end up going across any of the northern IX's, which is very rare.
Some people think it will be faster because it is in the same geographical location. However, traffic will still be routed via London, so there is no real benefit. It
As I stated above:
allhost.io has Coventry
