Windscribe VPN on sale for 25€/year (recurring)

YmpkerYmpker Member
edited April 18 in General

Windscribe is currently on sale for 25€/yr (recurring pricing according to MyDealz).

Good VPN that I've been using since 5+ years. Constantly improving/adding new features.

While you can do cashback with programs like TopCashback etc, I've never really done that as I found it too much a hassle. With Cashback you can get many vpns like purevpn completely free. But then there are posts of people, where cashback cookies weren't correctly set and they don't receive cashback and pay the full price, which is probably what has held me back, too.

I'm happy to have Windscrive ltd since (2016/2017) ;)

Going through mydealz or their site, I don't see this promo.

  • Why not share the link OP:

    Here it is: https://windscribe.com/upgrade?promo=10YRBABY

Billed $29.00 USD every 12 months

I sold my ltd account a while ago. No regrets though. I’ve found proton to be good enough for my use. I pay for proton services so just use the vpn as well

I haven't tried IVPN. Windscribe has worked with all geo-blocking restrictions I faced, servers are fast and the android app has lots of cool features such as split tunnel, decoy traffic, mtu settings, "ROBERT", allows LAN traffic, Geo Spoofing, Circumvent censorship settings and allows you to add custom configs from other vpn services. Also has Linux GUI apps and Linux CLI App.

When you say that it has worked with geo-blocking, what has it fixed for you? I'm assuming it's not going to let me watch youtubetv or other live streaming from outside of the US, but we be happy to learn that it works for that usecase.

I've been using it to view regional content on Crunchyroll (that is to say the US/UK catalogue, not only Germany), Flix US, BeInSports Philippines (2,80€/mo instead of like 90€ for DAZN and Sky if you wanna watch champions league, Bundesliga etc), some regionally exclusive TV channels (BBC..), Zattoo Switzerland (way more free channels than Zattoo Germany) and others.

Are their browser extension speeds better lately? Always liked Windscribe but I let my account expire as those got slow in the last few years.

They are faster than the VPN imho (since no vpn encryption takes place).
If you just wanna unblock services for maximum speed consider their ControlD smartdns. It allows you to redirect to different countries for any website. Someone on mydealz reported stellar speeds for BeinSports, for example. Since it's SmartDNS it should be basically 100% of your internet line performance, no vpn.

  • Dothey support proxies when you aren't connected to their VPN?

  • I've been subscribing for a few years, previously they're slower than fuckin tor. They did improved after they ban ppl that (ab)use it on seedbox dc or resell shared account login. $29 is dirt cheap for personal use within reason, else pay prem and get proton or mullvad instead.

I got the 19$/yr plan a few years back, works great for torrenting
Also recently they added native support in the app for amnezia wireguard, and it also supports SNI spoofing, pretty good at bypassing firewalls

Too much geoblocking on IVPN lastly. Even nordVPN works better right now.

I've observed this with Mullvad as well. It seems the privacy focused VPNs like Mullvad/IVPN are good at that, but not so much on geoblocking.
    Still good picks.

They have a browser extension, where you can connect via proxy. I think the config generator also lets you generate proxys.

  • You can run windscribe on linux and use proxy on android or so.

  • that's nice that they are doing a promo again. i have mine for $10/yr way before. it's p comfy ngl

You can do double hop if you have the vpn + proxy like NL (VPN) -> CH (Proxy extension, in the browser)

Then just install the windscribe extension and sign in. It's that simple

I guess the proxy is working only through the extension and cant be used in another tool/software?

What? Oh, you need to use the VPN software if you want to proxy some apps/tools using split tunneling though the windscribe software. The chrome extension only works in browser

You can create a SOCKS5/HTTP Proxy:

    https://windscribe.com/knowledge-base/articles/what-is-the-proxy-gateway-feature-and-how-to-use-it

Iirc, Proxy Gateaway is the only way now to use Windscribe through a proxy, after SOCKS5 configs were discontinued:
