Maybe you can consider some of those options:

    • Sakura (the one you mentioned w/ Hokkaido location, I used it before, the only problem was the 100mbps port speed)
    • Kagoya (I am using it, you can find a YABS below, in osaka/kyoto location, 250mbps unmetered port)
    • GMO cloud (Tokyo, Gunma, Kyoto, 200mbps port)

@Chensao did you manage to get any of these without a Japanese residential address? Same question for @Fubukibox. I tried signups and haven't been able to find a way around not having an address for any of the hosts mentioned in this thread so far.

  • If need native JP address just signup tenso (https://www.tenso.com/), but dunno it will work for those or not

I'm not sure how but my korean friend did tell me to email Sakura support about getting an account and paying for a vps. Can't think about anything else atm.

It prob won't work since the address is set to a warehouse in JP and i think some providers will reject it since it's a mismatch on where you are (Home IP) and address

You should let us know if that works, the prices for the Hokkaido location in particular are really good for super small throwaway machines (especially in Asia). Would love to snag a few myself if there's any way for foreigners to get our hands on them. Fake address might work but I'd rather not get a machine that I'm worried will randomly die/vanish on me from the account getting unexpectedly banned

Kagoya, you can get it without a JP address, Sakura amd GMO, I just borrowed my friend's place and asked him to do me a favor.

edit: btw after using all those three, I found Kagoya worked for me the best, Sakura and GMO is a little overbudget for me and their public bandwidth are kinda low.

Thank you, Kagoya works perfectly for my needs!

For anyone else reading this thread in the future: if you find yourself unable to sign up for Kagoya because you get hit with a 404 on the account creation page, it's because the account creation page only works if you're in Japan, I used Mullvad to get around it but was able to sign in fine from my normal IP address.

You can also just create a ticket. I think they blocked all addresses other than Japan's IP.
