damn didn't know you can run wordpress with 200mb ram
was expecting 128GB ram for a small wordpress site/
https://tierhive.com/blog/tierhive-howto/full-wordpress-on-debian-13-with-only-256mb-ram-ultra-minimal-guide
how much load can it handle? have you done a load test?
I blame nodejs bloat and obsession with SPA, chunking, electron, etc. If speed is a concern, it's better to use vanilla js
I mean, its not going to win any awards, and I would not front it for a blog network, but it works. best guess its good for high double or low triple-digit concurrency, depending on what ridiculous plugins you use.
Goated deals!
You can have SPA with a basic static server 😅
What are you talking about?
So far, these two are my top picks:
1. HostDzire ($20/yr): 4C/6G/100G. The resource-to-price ratio is absolutely insane for a yearly box.
2. TANHosting ($7/yr): 1C/512M/10G. Hard to beat a 5900X node at this price point for small tasks.
Thx! @HostDzire,@TNAHosting
I also think there are people out there who are still working on the idea of one service per machine. I'm definitely in the other camp, trying to get the most out of what I already have access to.
But this why I am curious because examples you gave
If I needed these I find somewhere to run on an existing machine.
For projects I work on, my philosophy is to start small and grow as and when the needs arise. But at the moment, I can't think of anything that would have started off that small. I'm tempted to do it just for the sheer spirit of the thing, but I'm out of ideas.
5900X with 512MB RAM is interesting!
After losing soo many great deals because of paypal i finally settled with:
3 vCPU, 8 GB RAM, 80 GB NVMe, 10 Gbps - 18 eur/y from @DeluxHost
It would have be great with the 100GB disk but i am happy anyways. I didn't even set it up yet so i am the ideal customer i guess :P
1TB Koofr lifetime storage at 129$ (i bought it elsewhere but i saw it from the lifetime deals thread on LET)
A static website delivered with a complex framework still needs to be transmitted and executed on the client side. Cargo cult is a real problem. Simple websites should only ship what they actually need. Most of the time, that's just HTML and CSS, perhaps a bit of JS for interactivity and async works.
I wouldn't say "settled" with that spec. That seems like a fantastic deal.
@DeluxHost has some of the best deals on LET
Hard to remember lol, I think that would be
Monthly
10C/10G/250G/14T@10Gbit for $10.47/m (Best compute per money monthly)
4C/8G/80G+10T/50T@1GBit 15€/m (Best storage per money monthly)
Yearly:
8C/4G/60G/16T@10Gbit $40/y
4C/16G/320G/80T@10Gbit €90/y (EPYC)
These include our insane VAT at 23-25%.
EDIT: Non-VPS is obviously the HostBrr DA 16 TB, 80 TB@10Gbit/m egress for €192/y
50 usd a year
6core 12g ram
350g Nvme
In LA
Geekbench 6 single 1100+
@Rubben . @emgh confirm.
Nice!
