I think all the refund requests on non lottery winners in the sales pissed them off. Sad that it had to be ruined for everyone.

I don't think that OVH decided by this reason. On the 11.11 sale there was ~1--2 regular configs between the lottery one e3-1270 v6, 32/64 GB 1200/1920 GB NVMe ones in the first-time orders (first 1--2 hours). I think that only the hardware price increasement reduced the chances to win the lottery now.

In 2022 we had near same situation. Energy prices increased highly and there was no lottery. And in 2023 OVH offered KS-LE servers with 2x 480 GB / 32 GB / e3-1245 v2 and provided 960 GB SSDS with full duplex 1 Gbps on IPv6. So when the prices can normalised in the HW and energy market we might got back the lottery chances.

And until that enjoy our upgraded ones. I think that the Kimsufi range exception from the price adjustment is a gesture from OVH to the gamblers. Look for the netcup prices with their root-server range. And look the price-performance ratio for an upgraded Mystery or LE-B. It is very clear that they more and more cheap for their value in this market situation.

I don’t think the majority of lottos are by design by ovh mostly due to certain ranges being put into the pool and not checked, not worth the time to check the hardware on each server for a certain range for the price of only 10€/m thats why we got anything from 32GB 450gb nvme up to 64gb 2tb nvme all within the same range from a certain cpu or certain year model but that’s just a guess

Does anyone else have to wait 5 days to get their server? It's been 5 days and I didn't get it yet, is this normal?

I've only waited once for a server ~7 days. Other than that, delivered in less than 20 Mins. I managed to snag a KS-LE-2 2 x 4TB GRA today for instance that took 10 mins to deliver to my suprise

What server are you waiting for ?

These come and go sometimes, OVH API is a little weird at time, especially in BHS for some reason.

I have build a small ovh api panel. I was starting from https://github.com/bousquetfrederic/buy_ovh here and I finished with this (thx LLM ...). Now you can order quickly a server from OVH ECO catalog, do some actions on your server, view your orders.. pay it, view invoices.. etc. What do you think ?

AI generated description of the app:

My OVH is a modern, secure web dashboard built with Next.js that provides a clean interface for managing OVH Cloud services. The application serves as a frontend wrapper around the OVH API, offering users an intuitive way to monitor and manage their cloud infrastructure.

    Key Features
Dashboard Overview: Real-time monitoring of dedicated servers, IP addresses, recent orders, and invoices
Server Management: View server status, specifications, and performance metrics with visual health indicators
IP Management: Configure reverse DNS and manage IP address allocations
Financial Tracking: Access invoices, billing history, and total spending analytics
Order History: Track recent service orders and purchases
Server Browsing: Browse and purchase new OVH servers through integrated catalog

    Security Features
Content Security Policy (CSP): Implements strict CSP with cryptographic nonces to prevent XSS attacks
Session-Based Authentication: Uses secure iron-session for credential management instead of JWT
Rate Limiting: API endpoints protected with configurable rate limiting (10 requests/minute for auth)
CSRF Protection: Same-origin validation and CSRF tokens for state-changing operations
Input Validation: Comprehensive validation for API endpoints, content types, and user inputs
Secure Headers: Implements security headers including frame-ancestors 'none' to prevent clickjacking
Pre-Authentication: Multi-layer authentication flow with pre-auth tokens before OVH API access

    Technical Stack
Frontend: Next.js 16 with React 18, TailwindCSS for styling
Security: DOMPurify for content sanitization, crypto module for secure nonce generation
API Integration: Official OVH API client with proper error handling
Session Management: Iron-session for secure server-side sessions
UI/UX: Lucide React icons, dark/light theme support, responsive design

The application prioritizes security while providing a user-friendly interface for OVH Cloud customers to manage their infrastructure efficiently. All sensitive operations are protected with multiple layers of security validation.

Would a 3.5 year old account with 394 likes and 401 comments qualify? I just don’t shitpost enough :)

Actually, does your app persist the ovh credentials? For some reason the api always wants me to revisit the url to give it access even with credentials, else it would work fine. That + having to edit values in conf being annoying is why I was also looking to make a UI, but don’t have enough time :(

Either way, thank you for providing the tool to community!
