Can you recommend an email service with excellent 24/7 Support?

I desperately need email provider that is privacy focused, 10 to 25gb of space, and 24/7 support that can resolve issues within a few hours, not days. I don't need calendar, contacts, tasks, outdated Softaculous apps or a complicated spam filter. I just need a simple imap service at an affordable price. Namecrane's support is unreliable, so exclude them.

Thanks in advance.

Google workspace or zoho or proton mail? Or maybe your domain registrar offers their own email service or microsoft 365 business?

NameCrane support has been great for me, and I've been using their email for a year now with no problems.

  • Google workspace, Microsoft 365 business, zoho are not privacy focused. Namecrame was great until I had a major issue created by their setup.

@Francisco please don't, just for the sake of low-end performance art.

Well, that depends on if you like an owner who will dox you if you piss him off: https://old.reddit.com/r/selfhosted/comments/1sfaclb/popular_email_host_mxroute_tried_to_get_me_fired/

While some people may defend the owner and say that he was provoked, it's generally not a smart move to trust your data with someone who uses your personal info for retaliation or who is considered infamously hot-tempered.

    Hey there,

Would any of our mail plans interest you?

Edit: Just to provide a bit of additional context, the mail account is backed by cPanel, and we have a cluster of SMTP relay servers plus handle outgoing through AWS SES for better reachability/address warmup.

    ProtonMail?

I use it for my important critical mail. Never had to contact support, though.

  • Thanks for the replies.

There are some privacy-focused ones, such as Tuta and Proton, which are excellent and may be suitable for your needs.

However, we do offer email hosting at MailBig.net (recently launched) if you need reliable, easy-to-use, and affordable email hosting. I can't promise you 24/7 support, but most of the time we respond quickly, and most users rarely need support.

You can see our plans in this thread: https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/216075/mailbig-net-email-hosting-6-year-15-mailbox-5-gb-space-mailbox-free-bonus#latest

Why do you need support for email service?

What kind of issues ? This is important, as provider can choose not to do business with you after couple of reports or issues.

Privacy focused and free: Cockmail seems pretty good.

Not necessarily privacy focused, and I don't think their support is 24/7, but I am a huge fan of Mythic Beasts for email hosting. Their other hosting offerings are probably good as well. Very no-nonsense company. Support is email based and helpful.

Another one that looks good, and is more privacy focused, is Posteo: https://posteo.de/en

does protonmail support email-standards like imap, pop3, smtp? it not, proton sucks.

Yeah, but you need to use their mail-bridge: https://github.com/ProtonMail/proton-bridge

I don't use it since ProtonMail is just for my personal email and personal business email. I'm not using it for transactional email or anything. Just access it via the browser or phone app. Works fine for that.

    EDIT: For SMTP: https://proton.me/support/smtp-submission

EDIT EDIT: Ok, SMTP looks pretty damn simple. Just create a SMTP token from the dashboard (password) and your username is just [email protected]. SMTP server is smtp.protonmail.ch:587

Unsure what sort of limitations are in place, though. Haven't really looked into it beyond whatever time was spent between your comment and this second edit.

  • yeah means no in this context.

proton hasn't helped a lousy government identify anyone in recent days?

  • Too complicated and nobody wants to use it, apart from a few crypto punks

  • Why not selfhosting Mailcow on Hetzner VPS with Amazon SES relay?

  • Fastmail. Their support really reads your complaint. They fixed my migration issue within an hour after they told me to wait for an engineer to look at my problem.

Wish they would implement search that also includes email content for Android.
