My Unfortunate Experience with Chunkserve

I've use chunkserve for a year on 2024-2025, here is my experience:
    Periodic network problem
vps turning off each couple week
    slow ticket respond

in the end, the vps is good for tinkering stuff, but definitely not for production.

    Looks like little has changed.

And frustratingly, it's not just rebooting. It's actually turning off and needs to be turned back on manually in the control panel.

I use it for a Tor relay because it's cheap and it's got plenty of bandwidth, but even among the 42 VPSes I currently manage, its reliability is easily within the bottom 5. It's pretty good if occasional reliability hiccups are acceptable, though.

  • Since purchasing this VPS, there have been occasional periods of website downtime; even SSH hasn't responded. Today I woke up and my website is down, and even after some time, it hasn't come back up.

I go to https://vf.chunkserve.com, and even that page loads with extreme difficulty. My VPS is stopped and won't load. It's getting worse every day.

  • Have had similar issues with SSH at the start, my issue was an IP conflict were the same IP was assigned twice, check with NMAP if you see any strange services, open ports and OS/service version info that doesn't correspond with your install.

Ok, so listen. A packet needs either electricity, or light to exist, right? So it has to have energy. And energy can't be destroyed. So when a packet gets lost, what happens to its energy?

I'll tell you: E=mc^2. All the lost packets become a paperweight!

When the packet gets lost, it becomes heat energy. That's why more the packet gets lost, more the provider faces the "heat"

Jesus, reading all these comments, it totally doesn't reflect my experience with @Chunkserve , i have purchased the Xeon Yearly Deal 3 @ LET 1 year and 7 months ago, i've never had any issues, at all...

Edit: damn... what a coincidence, for the first time SSH is unresponsive, and all services hosted are quite slow....

  • Yeah I can't believe I'm again having issues with another provider. Cheap prices always come with some kinda of troubleshooting. Never again.

  • after one month vps down they moved vps to new cluster and now all work good.
