Looking for JP vps outside Osaka/Tokyo under $20-50/yr

Hello, i am looking for a vps in Japan outside Tokyo/Osaka. i already have a node in

Bern, Switzerland
Las Vegas, US

@nekomikoreimu recommend me SAKURA vps (2c/1g/50GB SSD (or 100GB?)/10Gbps@Japan Local Unlimited) in Ishikari, JP for 807 Yen = $5.05/mo vs 9680 yen = $60.60/yr and @ddps (support is dead?) other then This thread

Specs:
1-2vcores (1vcores is fine)
1GB ram
10–50GB NVMe/SSD
10Gbps @ Unmerged or 1TiB cap is fine

Anything below $20-50/yr (if not, then i have to withdraw from the search). I will pay in YEN (USD as a backup) over cc

Questions to providers:

Do you have,

  • Debian 13 (12 is fine if 13 is not ava)
  • Iperf3 test server & LG
  • any caps or fair-use limits?
  • What is your policy on Adult Content in a general sense
  • Are you trigger-happy? (Suspends VPS on automatic Abuse "Claims" n such without notifying the user about what is "abused" + are you going to suspend just because someone made a false claim without any proof?)
  • Is your server running on EPYC or XEON?
  • What CPU do you use?
  • What kind of ram do you use? (DDR4, DDR5)?
  • Any IP blocks marked as Business?
  • (For JP providers: Can you understand english, if not i can use a translator if you would prefer) 日本のプロバイダーの皆様へ:英語は理解できますか?もし理解できない場合は、ご希望であれば翻訳ツールを使用することも可能です。

I think that is all. If there isn't any providers outside Osaka/Tokyo then i guess im fine with those two locations.

He's looking for a server outside tokyo n osaka.

  • Might update bandwidth, I'm fine with 1Gbps above or below. And bandwidth can be Below or above 1Tib. I don't see any other providers here. I'll search a bit more then go with Greencloud if nothing else shows up

nope, not yet. i was about to pause my search since i already know APAC has limited bandwith caps but eh. I am still thinking about SJC since it's 0-5ms closer to me but my current node in las vegas is like 30-40ms from My home to SJC to LAS since BuyVM does use HE.net and connects though SJC though

Maybe you can consider some of those options:

    • Sakura (the one you mentioned w/ Hokkaido location, I used it before, the only problem was the 100mbps port speed)
    • Kagoya (I am using it, you can find a YABS below, in osaka/kyoto location, 250mbps unmetered port)
    • GMO cloud (Tokyo, Gunma, Kyoto, 200mbps port)

the port speed should not be an issue for me since it's mostly under 100mbps on all times, more or less 25Mbps. I will check Kagoya and GMO cloud on ther vps plans

  • I would prob pay for a month first ($5/mo or around 800-900¥/mo) at first since the prices are way too high. to see if i get actual use case at first but also check if i would pay that amount every month even though the usual yearly cost blows past $60+ USD per year or so

Another cheap option that sell to international customers is agames:

Seems to be out of stock right now though, but their pricing tend to be superb for the region.

Lol i bought something called toy. Probably nat vps for a buck.

  • quick question for peeps who use native Japan Hoster

Does they have rules that you can't blast the port over long time ?

because last time I use Conoha JP, they set your connection speed at dial up when you blast 100mbps port over 15 min (or 10min ?)

They do. You don't know how much bandwidth you can use until you get a warning from provider.

  • oo then never mind lol

long time ago i following the article from romanrm (i think the owner of the site in this forum?)

from conoha -> nexusbytes -> greencloud

mostly only used for VPN, usual JP region block game and some spare stuff wordpress / hobby project etc

    Thanks !

    Specs:
10Gbps @ Unmerged or 1TiB cap is fine

    Now here's the problem.
There's some local providers who own servers in (Nagano, 100Mbps) (Miyagi, 1Gbps, $100/m) but all of them are either slow or expensive.

I think the best bet is get a server from DDPS. They recently got servers in Inzai(Chiba) location. But I don't know if their IPs geolocation is updated to Chiba.

Edit: no, these are not aff links. I'm not even using these.

I did comment earlier that im fine with anything 100Mbps or less. I would check how much BW is allocated to the vps. China? I'm not sure how that is going to work since between my home (California) to China, it's prob going to be blocked since i do use wireguard. but im unsure if wireguard even works for vps in China since DPI and the Chinese state firewall. But again, i did check both of the links you have shared and i noticed both of them are above 1k yen. for a VPS provider, i always check their ASN + how they route and check if it's Softbank or IIJ.

I think you may have misread Chiba as China. Chiba is a prefecture of Japan located to the east of Tokyo, and it's home to Tokyo Disney Resort (ironically) and Narita International Airport.

They are out of stock in that location atm. I came across BageVM from globalping, which they have cheaper options than others, but never used them. Worth the check tho.

Oh, and I forgot, when you 鸟鸟 meaning jiji, that character is usually pronounced niao (meaning bird) but also diao (which is a childish word for penis).
