  • Nice deals, but genuine question. With a lot of US based companies I see only 1 disk as the default / only option for dedicated server, is RAID not that common over there as it is in Europe or why? 95%+ of European providers I have seen so far, always go for at least 2 drives of the same model to support at least RAID 1.

I can talk about Ryzen it has only one Gen5 Nvme m.2 so if we go raid we second nvme m.2 whichis gen4 speed will deteriorate. I did offer dual disk with xeons in the past but since the poor performance of the other manufactures which did failed also randomly i started to buy samsung only and started offering one disk only as default. The second disk coming not expensive though also only for 10$ per mo additional for 2TB. I think its a fair ask.

There are Ryzen dedicated servers in the US with dual nvme in RAID but it is 2x Gen4
    like @HostMayo said above.

Thanks for the explanation, I think it's fair that if you want to keep the base price as low as possible, not to include a second drive and the 10$ are fair as well.

I just find it fascinating that there seems to be a lot of people who don't do raid setups. And like I said this seems to be somewhat of a difference between European and US providers / customers.

Never the less, good luck with the offer.

  • Yeah, the Ryzen limitation makes sense from a hardware standpoint, but running a single disk in 2026 still feels like living a bit dangerously. Even if Gen5 speeds are nice on paper, most workloads won’t notice the difference vs Gen4, but they will notice downtime or data loss.I get keeping base pricing low, but RAID1 (even Gen4) is more about reliability than speed.

$10 extra for a second drive is fair, but honestly, it’s something many people would expect as default rather than optional.
