About Tier.Net
At Tier.Net, we specialize in providing businesses of all sizes with hosting services, ranging from shared, VPS, dedicated/bare metal, and colocation hosting, with multiple data center locations across the United States.
We pride ourselves on being a customer-focused company, putting deep emphasis on developing long-term relationships with our customers. While we have multiple offices in the United States, with our administrative headquarters located in Binghamton, New York, we are also an international company with employees from across the globe.
About the Role
We’re looking to push the envelope in our content and marketing strategy, and are in search of a Technical Content Specialist to help shape how Tier.Net communicates with our prospective customers: web developers, agencies, tech companies/startups, SMBs, and infrastructure buyers.
This is not a generic content writing role.
You’ll be working closely with our sales, marketing, and leadership teams to create content that:
- Drives inbound traffic
- Converts visitors into customers
- Educates our target audience at an easy-to-understand or technical level, depending on the content
- Maintains and enhances Tier.Net as a trusted, technically competent provider
- Values substance over style (content should be useful, accurate, and purposeful)
- Is in a consistent, recognizable voice that reflects Tier.Net’s positioning
You should be comfortable operating in a space where technical accuracy, clarity, and business impact all matter.
What You'll Do
Your work will directly influence how customers discover and evaluate our services.
Core responsibilities include
- Write high-quality blog content focused on SEO, technical education, and product positioning
- Develop website and landing page copy that clearly communicates our offerings and drives conversions
- Create technical deep dives that explain real-world use cases (e.g., bare metal vs cloud, workload optimization, infrastructure decisions)
- Produce social media content that reflects our voice and engages a technical audience
- Contribute to email campaigns and marketing initiatives
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure technical accuracy and strategic alignment
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is a writer-first, but comfortable in technical environments.
Must Have
- Prior experience in hosting, infrastructure, or closely related industries
- Strong ability to write clear, concise, and engaging English
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts in a way that is easy to understand
- Solid familiarity with hosting technologies, VPS/virtualization, Linux and Windows systems, bare metal servers and modern server hardware
- Ability to adapt tone depending on audience (technical vs business-focused)
Nice to Have
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (routing, BGP, latency, etc)
- Understanding of data center infrastructure (location selection, power and density, redundancy, etc)
- SEO/content strategy experience
- Conversion-focused copywriting experience
