Which keyboard do you use on your mobile phone as default?

After many years using SwiftKey I switched to Typewise Offline Keyboard (using traditional layout not their fancy Hexagon). Not going back. It is not perfect, but still quite nice.

I also use SwiftKey because other keyboard doesn't have swipe feature as good as it.

How typewise swipe feature compared to SwiftKey?

Sorry, I have no idea. Not using swipe for typing.

    Swiftkey.

Why did you switch to Typewise? Just privacy? Did you pay $25 for it?

  • Plain old Gboard

    1) Swiftkey was started to work very slow on my device some time ago. Maybe reinstall would fix it. Did not tried.
    2) Received email that after 31 may 2026 swiftkey accounts move to microsoft onedrive.
    3) Unsolved crazy issue in swiftkey where you cannot type special chars easily in languages different than english. Want ā, č, ē, ž etc, please hold a, c, e, z and swipe up-left... that is crazy inconvenient. If you just swipe up there is stupid other chars not related to language. In Typewise (and normally in other keyboards), if you want ā, just hold a a bit longer and its there. Not some bullshit swipe up and left.
    4) Discovered that "send logs" option was ON by default in Swiftkey. Dont think I enabled it or it was there before microsoft took it over.
    5) Paid 24,99euro. First I tested it for 1-2 days (modded version), then uninstalled and did buy and installed official one. Developers deserve support.

The built-in keyboard based on AOSP isn't that bad either, but I'm used to HeliBoard now.
It also has more customization options.

GBoard is pretty handy last time, with the translation tool built inside the keyboard. I'm still using GBoard to date because I am very used to it (the format).
