What's your requirement?
@HostDoc Lagos, Nigieria
Elende in Angola: https://elende.ao/?cmsid=142¤cy=4
RAM 1 GB, it's okay.
If you are ok with NAT, you can try @AK_KWH they have NAT machines in Johannesburg for under $10/y.
I think @oloke has used few providers in Africa!
@Rackzar is another suggestion in SA
Do you have the link?
What is it?
What the link?
Thank you!
I haven't tested that many actually:
And untested (but i have a feeling it will be good):
Untested (and I have no feelings):
Within your budget of $5/mo probably only @HostDoc and only if you ask him politely for a discount
Are you a customer as well?
edit:
Oh and in South America (🇨🇱) @jfrac is definitely my recommendation, but I think we talked about it in other thread already
Thank you so much. I appreciate it.
Thanks for the plug!
We can offer VPS in two locations in South Africa. We have an active yearly discount promo, but I can't post links as we don't have a member tag :-P
Host rep tag is free!

I need to find a good reason to give them my money
Yeah that's tough.
If I'm being honest, it is currently the most expensive of my 50+ VPS servers at $7.67/m (paid annually).
can recommend
🇿🇦 absolutehosting.co.za
of course they have downtimes, but they are good enough for ZA
Completely blocks Tor from even viewing the site.
Just a warning: They limit you to no more than 25% average CPU usage from the hypervisor's perspective (so in reality, closer to 15%), which can be crippling if you only have a single core, especially when it's a 2.1 GHz Xeon Silver. That aside, I highly recommend them if that doesn't matter for the intended workload.
IPInfo says it's really in ZA and I get <2ms ping to Teraco JB1 in Johannesburg from my VPS with them, so I'll trust it.
Not really what i meant. I heard some unconfirmed rumors they might be opening in Egypt in the future. For now it's only in South Africa, true.
I don't recall when was the last downtime of sitehub ( @HostDoc ), but it was planned maintenance with notice a 2 weeks before. It was the only noticeable outage during the whole year I have service with them.
elende was a bit worse but also surprisingly stable given the region they're operating in.
Oh wow!
I just checked. The 30th of this month will be exactly one year. It has been a pleasure.
