This is the second time in the last 6 months this has been done. Dont you think this time there should be a more permanent solution? The first time was his 2025 Storage VPS scam, he ignored everyone for months, serveral 100 clients have payed, there was no sign of him (though he was online on LET). He claimed "mental issues" and started to get active again. This time he got hacked and is more then obviously not able to handle his business. Clients are waiting for any kind of life sign, clients with payed services. By all means, this is the definition of scam. Taking money and not providing.
At this point one could say LET is supporting his scams. He clearly has no intention whatsoever to honor any contract and opted to bully his customers away.
you checked that just now ? I canceled everything 4 months ago
Don't use Hostslick. Avoid.
the billobucks talk ma'fren!
Do you have a specific suggestion? I mean what else could be done? Ultimately, it is up to us to buy or not to buy. I have also bought a few servers from companies that went sideways (Hi, Eric from Boloxmedia
) but I am not blaming LET for this. LET is just a platform for those providers to advertise and we then decide whether to buy or not.
Just to clarify: @HostSlick 's Patron Provider tag was suspended last August, and at some point in September or October, they were assigned a Host Rep tag, which was an error
Normally, if a provider decides to stop paying for a Patron Provider tag, they quasi-automatically revert to a Host Rep tag, but this shouldn't happen if the Patron Provider tag was suspended -- at least it shouldn't be quasi-automatic
At this point, by suspending @HostSlick 's Host Rep tag, I've corrected the error
It's another question whether more drastic action should be taken
The provider last logged in yesterday. Their staff should have the priviledge to reply and justify themselves if needed. I don't believe more drastic action is needed.
After the first scam he should have been banned. Cut all ties to this person, dont give him a platform to continue his shady shit with more then questionable business ethics. Show the community that LET staff actually cares (at least to a certain degree). Establish a clear borderline between him and this forum. Simply suspending a tag wont do enough and does not send a clear message. To add insult to injury, whilst his scam was on going, he even changed his profile pic to a prime Callin picture, showing how immature and mentally unstable he really is (While he was ignoring customers, not reacting to anything, as if this whole thing was simply a joke to him).
Thanks for clarifying, I really appreciate the transparency
What scam was that?
sAYS HE was last active today.
I am also a victim of @HostSlick, my storage VPS went down almost two months ago due to the "hack" and his team was responsive for a couple of days, their final response was Feb 6th when they told me that the panel was fixed, but till date there's no update and their panel is totally screwed, even though the service is falsely labelled "active".
I wish I would've never bought this VPS from him, this is literally the worst experience I ever had with customer support, he doesn't care at all.
@HostSlick Are you ready to make it right for the final time? If you are so concerned about your reputation, give a refund to all of your VPS customers and settle this matter for the final time. I see that you were active two days ago.
If anyone else has any ideas on how to proceed further please share.
Update: I opened a new ticket called "Final chance" and linked to the forum post, that seems to have grabbed their attention. They said I will get a full refund, but I'll believe it when I get the message from my bank!
At-least they have integrity to return the money. Their excuse for not responding was "we kind of bigger backlog", which is not good, the least you can do is respond to the customer and let them know that it will take time. If you stay silent then there's no difference between you and a scammer.
I also suggest all victims to do the same and get your money back.
Both my shared hosting plans (on different servers) have had DirectAdmin licenses expired and lately are completely down. Ticket remains without reply in a week. It seems HostSlick can't even be bothered to renew and manage simple shared hosting licenses through DirectAdmin.
If you can still access your services, make backups now!!! You have been warned!!! Even their tag is suspended! This ship is under and going down fast!
Remember
Zero backup == Zero worth
sounds like scam
Hello,
I’ve just finished a busy period at work, and when I checked HostSlik for the first time in a while, I couldn’t log in to VirtualizorPanel. I submitted a support ticket but haven’t received a response, so I’m posting here.
Has something been going on with HostSlik lately?
Could someone please explain what’s happening?
They told me to reinstall and do the tick for only boot device after the hack or whatever.
Unfortunately I did not think about it, as I remembered later the small integrated panel has still the bug and not recognizing some options for the reinstall (like the boot device tick) and it wiped the complete server.....
They seem not very tech savy and not care.
Good that I don't care and the VPS is just a temporary storage and I still kept my old.
Thank you for your response.
I signed up for the “2024 Specials - 2025 5TB SSD+STORAGE ALL-ROUNDER DEAL” on an annual contract last July, but I assume I can’t get a refund now, right?
Since there hasn’t been an official statement, I’d like to look into other VPS options.
Do you know of any good storage VPS providers?
I live in Japan, and since I’m using it for backup purposes, a slightly higher ping isn’t a problem.
Hosthatch are good and have several locations near you. You might want to wait for a possible birthday sale in April.
Thank you.
I’ll check back from time to time.
When they do have promotions, they tend to just be for 24 hours. I've missed quite a few that way.
