Out of curiosity, are there any particular issues with the service provided, or are the issues primarily to do with the ethnicity and/or political beliefs of the owner?
Yes. In my experience, his servers are great. I have got one in FI and pretty happy with it.
If the performance is good, all the better. But not everyone wants to buy from a provider run by one person or just a handful of people, who are prone to having emotional outbursts in response to jokes prompted by things they could simply choose not to include in their ad.
I buy from various providers from different countries and spanning many different political beliefs. But the character of the man behind the show says it all.
Has he ever let emotional outbursts affect his services, e.g. terminating people for things they've said?
Never. And I'm not that emotional, I just get a little angry when white is called black and vice versa.
Few factors here. It is your money and you choose how to spend it. If you don’t like a provider due to whatever reason, best you can do is to not buy from them. Or if you like them really much then you can buy from them.
So they can have great service but not so great representative, it hurts their business because you are reflecting a negative stance on people
Or you can have shit service but be super nice and still get customers or make people wonder “maybe I should give him a second chance and things got better” then you spend your money on the said provider
At modern times, what most CEOs does is the best, they don’t mention their beliefs in public (or not so openly) so you are not aware if the company you pay is owned by a dickhead or totally nice person.
So yeah it all depends on your representatives’ reputation. You can scare the customers away or bring them into the house.
Unfortunately, your assumption is far from real life. For example, despite the fact that sanctions did not require it, owners of bank card networks such as Visa, MasterCard, JCB, and others simultaneously ceased servicing Russian clients and companies. Similarly, Microsoft, Amazon, and many other companies acted in the same way. So no, perhaps Western company owners adhere to racial, national, and other correctness towards their customers, but only not towards Russians. As Russian citizens, we have drawn our own conclusions from these hostile actions, and these companies are unlikely ever to restore their reputation.
As for our company, we have never engaged in any forms of segregation, and the only requirement we impose on our clients is compliance with our service rules and applicable legislation.
