still waiting my part from giveaway last year
I saw your other posts from 2014 and 1015, your specification remain kinda same huh
Also seems you are experienced in H@H so i wanted to ask few questions as me too trying to find similar spec vps for same purpose.
Likely you are already running few H@H instances in europe or probably in america too? If so can you tell me how much Hath and GP it produces with 20gb SSD and 1TB bandwidth? Thanks in advance.
If it produces 3-5 hath and few thousands GP per day, I'll setup one in america as the vps are cheap there.
Europe & America aren't great, I have one instance H@H running on a kimsufi dedi located in Canada and it only generates 2hath daily. I've had running for 1yr+ and it only used 10gb space even though I've configured to allow use 500gb space
As I mentioned earlier in the thread you can generate a lot in EU and US, but you need high performance storage. I have an EU server generating 20 per day but it has a gigabit network connection and is on good NVME storage (~10GB/s). The same in the US with cached HDD storage is only 10 per day, with the US being less saturated I would outperform my EU client if I had the same storage. With the number of clients that exist, HDD storage is just not sufficient anymore.
If the quality is not consistently above ~9000-9500 then it won't try to allocate a lot of ranges to you and so you won't have a high performing client. My EU client usually sits above 9500, sometimes it even sits at 10000. I don't even care about hath or even use the site, but I think it's a cool community project that helps preserve manga so I support it, and will most likely add some more clients in future.
I should mention that you can't set up new EU clients anymore unless you're already running a good client in the EU or elsewhere.
Why can't you set up new EU clients?
too low in demand

this is 10GB being allocated for h@h in asia region, has 2TB bandwidth but i'm not sure it's total usage since the bandwidth is split with syncthing-relay in the vps.
Too saturate and low demand
Got it. So "can't" just means that it won't be useful, not that it's prohibited.
@ScreenReader
Demand is really high in asia huh. Tbh this is exactly what i need, 3hath/day. What's the type of storage? SSD or Nvme ? And what's the port speed? And if you can tell the hosting country too..
Btw, thanks for sharing stats, it made things clear for me.
Or maybe EU people dont ingest Doujin in general.
If you have HDD disk but high speed internet, dont turn on low-memory mode as it will lower IO alot
Either should be fine. It requires fast storage but not so fast that SATA/SAS would be a bottleneck.
the storage is ssd. hosted in singapore (kuroit). this one was on flash promo. 2vCore/4GB RAM/25GB Space £9 quarterly.
i don't remember the port speed but in current store page, singapore got upto 10gbps uplink
The owner of the site has explicitly limited them because of the saturation, unless you have existing clients you aren't able to ask for new ones.
@Ruriko
As you mentioned you bumped the price to $50, I think I found something. Of course, I haven't personally used it, so make sure to check everything before purchasing.
It's called hawkhost.
They provide VPS servers in Singapore and Hong Kong for $5/month. If you go with the annual plan, it's just $50/year.
Spec it provides:
Wish things were cheaper in Asia, but this is the best I could find. Let me know if you find anything cheaper than this.
Here's my 1 month experience running H@H on a cheap vps.
I got $3 per month vps with 15GB nvme and 1TB monthly bandwidth in singapore (Yearly just $30). 1GB RAM + 1 vCPU. From webhorizon, though currently out of stock.
The storage is low so i used alpine linux as server and unofficial rust version of H@H maintained by james58899 (thanks dude).
Allocated 11GB to h@h, there's still 2GB headroom for other things.
Memory usage remain 8-9%. Cpu usage always under 3%. Today is last day of 1 month and just 23% of total bandwidth used (what a waste).
Anyways here's the rewards and stats-

GP generated 492,809 total.
Hath generated 100 total.
And here's mine after just over a month, starting with the karvl $2 per month in Hong Kong, 1c/1g/20g ssd. Running fine for a while, but for some reason the quality keeps dropping so I have to move to a shared pterodactyl host in Vietnam with just ₫5,400 (just over $0.2) per month. Still running the vanilla java version though, might switch to the rust port soon.
