Searching for a Reliable, and affordable Dedicated, or Beefy VPS
I am not set on a specific set of specs. But the short version of what I am looking for is
- 16GB of RAM (More if you offer a cheaper deal)
- High End storage, like at least 1 TB or more, SSD or HDD doesn't matter.
- Unmetered Bandwidth, fair usage expectation is welcome. While my sites will be low traffic, I don't like my hand being held in terms of limits.
- Cheap. I currently pay ~$20/mo for 3 servers; One has 4GB of RAM, one has 2GB of Ram and 1 has 1GB of RAM, all unmetered bandwidth (Ionos is my provider).
- Must include an IP. IDK how to get one otherwise it seems little stupid I have to add this but for some reason the ones I discovered on my own require you to bring your own ip, and that just isn't possible.
- The normal expected features of a VPS or Dedi. Older hardware is fine. I am not picky as long as it can handle use.
- Month to month pricing, no contracts, no bs, responsive support. You can really charm me if you are nice to me, and help me or direct me if I need help.
- No shady or popup vendors, whether I use this for 5 years or 20 I want to make sure it is available, and doesnt get discontinued randomly on a Tuesday afternoon.
- Reliable, and uptime are also a must.
Longer Version (Use case, in case you can cut me a deal due to my use case):
I currently host on Ionos, I have (3) VPS, I am just not happy with having to go into each one individually, or the other option is to buy a 4th and connect them altogether, which is still more effort than its worth when things like a larger server, or dedi exists that can be split into smaller VPSs' using Caprover etc.
I currently host Discourse, a mail server, and getting ready to deploy a few Discord bots, and an API based service that will be guarded (meaning WL not self service). All of which are low traffic, except the discord bots, which will be for about 10 Discord Servers and are for a tickets system.
I am also a college student, and IT enthusiast, been messing with programming since 2011, and computers since I was knee-high to a grasshopper.

If you want a dedicated server just grab one of the $20~ OVH ECO line servers.. they have them in the US too (I'm guessing you're in the US from your post) - https://eco.us.ovhcloud.com/ - It's the best option especially if you're technically inclined.
It'll be hard to find a VPS around that same price range with 1TB of storage and unmetered bandwidth, unless you want to take a chance with reliability.
Your best bet is to look for a VPS for that budget especially at today's prices. No provider (to my knowledge) offers dedicated servers at that price.
If you wish to invest a little more like $50+ then you can find some good deals at providers like worldstream, hetzner and so on.
Incase your project grows it's better to have headroom instead of moving again to another VPS, however if your project is strictly 20-ish then a VPS it is.

Like mentioned OVH ECO is hard to beat. They are a reliable option. Make sure to turn on Monitoring with Proactive intervention. If your server goes down, OVH techs will be notified and help you get back up running.
I think Scaleway is pretty good too. It can be found under Paris location from OneProvider or bought directly from them.
