Seeking VM with low latency AS13036

Hello LET,

I am searching for a VM with sub 20 ms latency to AS13036
Strict requirement (for IPv6 only): no DDoS protection and/or automated IPv6 network monitoring
Public IPv4 and routed IPv6 needed
No strict memory/storage needs
CPU: Only one core, should be no less than 2x faster than Intel Xeon Silver 4114
CPU FUP: Must tolerate 2 hours of 100% usage a day
Network: 1TB 1Gbit/s

Price: Under 6€/month, monthly billing (or shorter time period)

Regards,

384.cz

You might want to see if @FHR 's SkylonHost with infra in Prague makes a good fit for you :-)

    Anything cheaper?

Skylon ToS: "You may be subject to additional screening procedures at order time. "
    This seems fishy to me

Skylon's product page: "All servers come with a basic DDOS protection"
this is in contradiction with my request

This is not a strict requirement

    Hi,

Jay from v6Node.com here. I ran some tests on our Frankfurt infrastructure.
    Heres the results:

    ✔ 78.80.142.237 (avg 11.497 ms)
    ✔ 93.153.6.166 (avg 13.588 ms)
    ✔ 46.13.174.109 (avg 9.366 ms)
    ✔ 89.24.226.234 (avg 13.938 ms)
    ✔ 78.80.47.35 (avg 16.089 ms)
    ✔ 78.80.151.7 (avg 13.654 ms)
    ✔ 78.80.181.254 (avg 15.630 ms)
    ✔ 62.209.194.123 (avg 15.944 ms)
    ✔ 46.13.62.107 (avg 15.147 ms)
    ✔ 62.168.37.244 (avg 11.547 ms)
    ✔ 109.183.202.149 (avg 17.304 ms)
    ✔ 46.13.96.22 (avg 14.440 ms)
    ✔ 46.13.251.72 (avg 16.992 ms)

You can order a node from our website v6Node.com - thereafter please send us a message in our cloud panel stating your IPv4 and IPv6 address so we can disable the DDoS protection for these.

    The smallest node is:

    Node 4GB G2

    • 2 CPU cores
    • 4 GB RAM
    • 40 GB NVMe
    • 8 TB traffic per month is included

Price is 5,79 EUR per month with monthly billing and dedicated IPv4 address included. Node can be cancelled each month.

The CPU is a AMD EPYC 7B13 64-Core Processor; I am sure this fulfills your needs.

IPv6 latency to AS13036 matters no less

    Hey 384_cz,

We're in Eygelshoven, NL (SkyLink datacenter). I ran a quick test from our network to AS13036:

    78.80.142.237 (avg 16ms)
    93.153.6.166 (avg 18ms)
    46.13.174.109 (avg 14ms)
    89.24.226.234 (avg 18ms)
    78.80.47.35 (avg 16ms)
    78.80.151.7 (avg 14ms)
    78.80.181.254 (avg 14ms)
    62.209.194.123 (avg 32ms)
    46.13.62.107 (avg 19ms)
    62.168.37.244 (avg 16ms)
    109.183.202.149 (avg 22ms)
    46.13.96.22 (avg 19ms)
    46.13.251.72 (avg 22ms)

Most are sub-20ms, a few go above. Might or might not be tight enough for you depending on which targets matter most.

Our XEON 1G would be the simplest fit:

    • 1 Core (Xeon E5-2697 v4)
    • 1 GB RAM
    • 10 GB NVMe
    • Unlimited traffic, 10 Gbps shared port
    • IPv4 + IPv6 /64
    • 1.49€/mo, monthly billing

CPU is a Xeon E5-2697 v4, so should be in the ballpark of what you're after (you mentioned the CPU requirement isn't strict).

If you want to test latency yourself first: skrime.eu/network / AS215365

    Hey @SKRIME
Latency is not the best, CPU is not an improvement (This CPU would be fine if it had great latency)
Two cores would be actually better
Do you or your upstream have any sort of DDoS/DoS protection?
Do you have any website in English?

    Hey,

Website is German only, browser translator does the job though.

For two cores you can put together exactly what you need with our EPYC Configurator: skri.me/epyc-config. Currently 30% off with our Spring Sale (permanent discount).

DDoS protection on IPv4 is provided by PletX.

DDoS protection on IPv4 is provided by PletX.

Is there truly NO DDoS protection on IPv6?
    I specifically don't want protection on IPv6

Why not? Not all DDoS protection is implemented by tunneling traffic through a pipe that can handle attacks, assuming the issue is that you do not want extra latency caused by the extra routing.

It may discard the sheer volume of highly specific packets

So the issue is that there may be false positives? There are some DDoS mitigation solutions that you can control yourself, or that are only turned on when the VPS would otherwise clearly be overloaded.

A lot of systems have DDoS mitigation in place nowadays, so it may be somewhat limiting to exclude all mitigations.
