Legacy Kimsufi KS1 still worth it?

akzakz Member

Been a while still have a legacy kimsufi ks1 in BHS running strong at 6.99eur a month. Is it still worth keeping in 2026 or better off replacing with a lowend vps?

Not worth it. Performance is too weak.

If it does what you need, I think it's still a great deal.
If you need speed and don't care about storage, maybe a VPS is better.

If it's fast enough and you want the storage on the same machine, nothing beats it.

Although, having said nothing beats it, some of the HostHatch storage servers are a similar price during deals and have better performance. You might need to worry about CPU limiting though, which is just not a concern on a dedi.

I still have a bunch of it as a storage node. Mine has 2TB and is 5.99€/m. Ja the processor is old, but ram is sufficient. OVH has their own infrastructure, completely. They do not care if you push 100Mbits/s 24/7. its still a dedicated server. You can’t compare most of the lowend sellers here with ovh in my opinion. I still like them.

I’ll take it if your looking to get rid of it
