Besides, Easter will be next month.

Ha ha. That was me some eons ago. Then gradually I wisened up idled more performant servers. I realized that some of these wouldn't even keep/retain data properly and Mr. Murphy was always watching to ensure that things crashed right before I decided to use them (mind you, I've gotten better at idling them for longer to ensure they're reliable of course but then once I use them, Mr. Jinxit colludes with Mr.Murphy to ensure failure probability hits 1.0).
I prefer LONG lived storage VMs as a result and I can tolerate slowness but prefer both the host and the setup to be reliable + durable + competant enough for me to get some confidence that I can restore if things go south.
I'm using BOTH Restic and Borg to not just have (5-4-)3-2-1 with different hosts+setups+FS but even different backup tools just in case...
I'm pretty sure that it'll ultimately be my own stupidity that'll cause chaos. Let's see how I vs Me works out in the end.
