Your thoughts on OVH
I've been reading a lot of bad reviews about OVH specifically their support. But the price is very appealing. I'm interested in this plan for my minecraft server what are your thoughts?

Compared to before, OVH's customer service has improved a lot; at least on weekdays, they can respond on the same day. Previously, I encountered situations where orders weren't delivered for a month, support tickets weren't responded to, and subsequent support tickets were forcibly closed.
Of course, their response speed is still much slower than Scaleway and Hetzner, especially for technical support. OVH has different levels of customer support; the free tier only offers same-day responses.
thank you
Is their control panel still freaking slow?
Yeah. Probably just has to do with the whole system supporting a bunch of regions. The US one seems a little faster but maybe it's just mental.
Their control panel is horribly slow, but functional. For vps you can’t change root password without engaging secure boot.
Support is fast (same day) but somewhat useless with their “it is your problem, not ours”.
Servers are good, stable and performant. Network is rock solid. No fup bullshit. On vps downtime they have that silly system when auto-ticket is created for incident, but if you will not attend to it manually issue may drag for days.
For given price (even after increase) their value is high.
If you know what you are doing in terms of servers, its perfect provider. If you need support constantly with smallest issues like SSH or general linux questions, its not a provider for you.
My experience of non-tech queries has been ok, with the occasional slow/no response to some tickets, that I have to nudge to eventually get an update.
I probably wouldnt recommend them to anyone that I foresee requiring support.
That being said, I dont know who I would recommend instead.
Dedicated servers are fine and hardware support is fine.
Otherwise don't count on support.
Stay away from VPS-1 in localzone products (and probably most of public cloud products as well) - at least the former is not even in beta state at the moment and from my observations it looks as if the team is at the moment (last six month) not really able to handle their openstack systems in a sufficient manner.
thank you everyone for you expert and non expert opinion
Their dedicated servers are solid. VPS is good if you like to use a lot of bandwidth.
Highly recommend you turn on monitoring with proactive intervention. OVH tech will be notified if your server ever goes down, diagnose the issue and help fix it.
The first server I purchased was from OVH, so I'll always have a special love for them. I've found over the years, though, that they're no longer one of the cheapest providers. For old hardware, they probably cannot be beaten on price, but their new hardware ranges are not that competitive anymore in my opinion.
all french companies have a too bloated website, > @Levi said:
yeah their GUI sucks big time. I think they dont have frontend developers. Also their menu/list of products is too big so they are lacking in any field expertise. Same with the big tec cloud providers..
