USA Colocation: What you want to see?

alexhostalexhost Member, Patron Provider

Hello.

We are looking for feedback. Which cities would you like to see in the United States? Is there anything new you would like to see?

Which location in the United States would you like to see in our services and why? Anything specific?

We are open to suggestions. As well as hardware, ports, and prices. However, we are more interested in knowing which location you want (Las Vegas, Dallas, Seattle, or other?).
DDoS Protection is a must.

Leave your opinion in the comments. What would you like to see and why? We also accept suggestions for data centers for Colocation. (We want a high-quality data center with remote hands.)

Thank you.
Alexhost

    @Alexhost

42U including electricity and 1 Gbps at Hurricane Electric Fremont, $200/month.

Assuming I correctly understood the email I received a few weeks ago from HE, this used to be their free offer, for which they now are charging $200/month.

If you get an HE cabinet, and you want to install a cheap dedicated server and give it to me, that would be great.

    Have fun!

    Best wishes!

@alexhost Reach out to fiberhub they are good for Seattle and Las Vegas location.

  • Seattle, Ashburn and Chicago.

  • San Jose - looks like a lot of Australian undersea cables terminate in SJC and/or LA, so that would be nice for me.

Then again California is a commie state with high power prices so anywhere with cheaper power (and hence cheaper rack space) would also be nice.

Less popular areas. Carve out a city and become the provider people think of when wanting a location in or near that city.

Indianapolis is a good location, I've got stuff with CircleVM (as26006) there and a BGP session. 6-7ms from Chicago and at or about 20ms from Kansas City, St. Louis, Buffalo, Grand Rapids, NYC, etc. A bit of a unique location that is still relatively close to major population centers.

You could consider locations like Louisville, Cincinnati, Detroit, etc as well. Underserved markets that would be attractive as a LET provider because people here often grab things just for the uniqueness of it + the option to better serve some specific locales better, assuming there is good peering with local ISPs.

I was going to say Detroit, but I have personal servers Colo'd there. lol

You could however do Grand Rapids, Michigan Decent Sized City with not many Single U colo options but several Datacenters like https://www.switch.com/grand-rapids/ (Watch the Video the place is pretty cool)

You could also do like Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Don't see many offers if any out of Wisconsin.
