@MAXKO_Hosting South Africa
You can ask him to enable CPU passthrough on your VPS (which will enable AES-NI and SIMD features that will improve the gb6 benchmark). I'm not sure why he doesn't have it enabled by default, but each time I bought a VPS with him, I was able to ask in the support chat and it was done. My
lscpuon the same exact location from him:@MAXKO_Hosting If you enable CPU passthrough by default, people will be able to see improved performance as well as improved security (through SMEP)
In particular, I expect your disk performance to increase substantially if you request CPU passthrough, as you're surely using an unaccelerated cipher (even if you aren't using AES due to the lack of AES-NI and are using a software-optimized cipher, the lack of any modern SIMD features being passed through will be a bottleneck).
SolusVM controls CPU passthrough by default according to the OS template. In our tests, some operating systems do not work correctly with CPU passthrough, which is the main reason why we do not enable it by default.
By the way, based on our NVMe disk tests in Serbia, do you think they will survive VPS hosting on a 100G network once we open the new location?
