Why Isolation Matters

The biggest mistake people make with AI agents is running them next to sensitive environments:

  • Personal and production files
  • API tokens and private keys
  • Password managers
  • Email accounts
  • Browser sessions
  • Messaging apps

OpenClaw is not just another app.
It is an agent that performs actions.

If permissions or integrations are misconfigured, the impact can become very real.

The Safer Approach

Run OpenClaw inside a dedicated environment.

A separate machine means:

  • Lower risk of credential leaks
  • Isolated API keys and services
  • Full control over integrations
  • 24/7 availability
  • Clear separation from personal or business infrastructure

You don’t need a Mac mini 8gb for open claw. That’s overkill because open claw itself is nothing insane to need this much processing power, it can run on a pi or a simple VPS.

The big deal is the LLM model being used, and if you are using a local model instead of API, 8gb is useless. You need minimum 64-96gb to have a decent local model. I have tried those 16-24gb vram models on my gpu and they are pretty bad.

If folks are using 8gb models for this, then you don’t need a glorified LLM host full of vulnerabilities and hallucinating actions, you just need an automation script to do the same thing.

The only significant advantage a mac mini offers is a clean way into the Apple ecosystem, and easy web browsing. That may be the deal maker for some, but not most.

  • Using it to run OpenClaw would be a good choice.

  • Code expired lol. But Openclaw on a mac mini? I was about to buy myself a mac mini in the future. I am not touching Openclaw within a 100ft pole

    Hi, dear Fubukibox

The coupon code is working, please try again. It expired earlier than specified. Now everything should be OK.

With this link, should be already applied automatically:

    If not, do it manually.

    Hi, dear zmeu.

We reset the server after each customer, ensuring no data can be mixed up
The reset deletes all the data from that server and the logged accounts are deleted from the server as well

You have reason, but this still recurring. Stills better than regular price.

“Yes, an M1 Mac mini can be locked to an iCloud account using Activation Lock, a security feature that binds the device to an Apple ID via Find My Mac. If enabled, the Mac requires the original user's Apple ID password to activate, erase, or reuse it.”
