Is anyone here still running localzone vps, esp. in Brussels (EU) or Atlanta (US)?
@nielsleemans do you still have one in Brussels?
@JoeMerit do you still have yours in Atlanta?
@concept or @Arirang do you by any chance have one in either Brussels or Atlanta?
Could you just do a tcpdump on your vps to check if you see any traffic that should not end up on your vps?
It looks as if the network is not encapsulated in those locations...
I don’t have any lz vps now
That sounds like a sane choice, thank you.
Looks like I will have to join that club of yours that is refusing to run lz vps in the near future.
yeah, I rather pay a little bit more for better service especially since I am running more prod level stuff on it. LIM has been my favorite DC right now. I rather just wait until those lz locations become one of their more official dcs like Milan.
LIM is good. ERI as well.
Localzone imho is down from beta into alpha into "not even born yet" state. I actually have no idea what they are doing there but at least localzones are able to bring more problems and crazy stuff in 4 month than running vps and dedicated servers for like dozens of years.
I do wonder though how their public cloud (in local zones) would fare... never tried that one.
Speaking of it.... I just checked. It's pretty much all out of stock right now. How is there only US Hillsboro left
Who is buying all the stock? I haven't seen it this bad in a while.
Probably people that got the price hikes emails by Hetzner and had not been OVH customers before... (so they are not aware of the prices hikes by OVH).
By the way: still have not got one from OVH US. Anybody?
People are trying to decide which one is better. I wonder how many bought that 12 months commitment plan. I have one of each in Hillsboro/Vint Hill of VPS-2. They are ok, still prefer EU locations.
Stock is clearing! FFS. LocalZone crap only left in few locations. People buying VPS for a year to freeze price.
So OVH should allow to transfer VPS and not only bare metal dedis - new secondary market will tune up here at LET.
I think you should be able to on EU and others but it's not allowed on US accounts.
No. No one will buy server which after contract expiration will go up 40%+. If speculation will arise, it will be 1 month after price increase. ~11 months usable time for server until new contract kicks-in.
I hope, that within a year industry will find a solution for this madness and we will go back to nice low end prices.
I have a VPS in Brussels. It seems fine.
Having these kind of status reports for Europe localzone vps would be so lovely:
https://status.us.ovhcloud.com/pages/incident/59dd23da8827c804746f1664/6997961e910d6405f1e42bd6

In Europe, you just wait days to have an action completed (like loading into rescue) with most actions failing completely...
(and no status pages or monitoring by OVH EU it seems)
https://bare-metal-servers.status-ovhcloud.com/
Yeah, I know that page but they do not list any local zone vps stuff there.
Prices have been updated.
Only Poland is offering pre-orders, all other nodes are not available.
Looks like EU/World/CA all got updated, US has not been updated and no stock.
