yup mine also down
@SolidVPS - I always hate making these posts
Sorry to be such an annoying customer sometimes but if your Tampa server ever goes down, I know immediately, unfortunately XD haha. I need some more redundancy.
Maybe limited to Tampa? My Tampa server is the only one down.
@Saragoldfarb - yeah, it has to be - this happened a few months back, also and was their upstream provider. I've got my fingers crossed it will come back up pretty quickly again like last time.
Probably will. I don't recall noticing a significant Tampa outage before.
@Saragoldfarb - check my post from last month:

It wasn't very long, but long enough
Thanks. I think I got my Tampa server after that that. Been prettt solid this far
Can confirm Tampa is down and NL is up for me. Hope it's nothing major.
@deafcon None of these URL will load for me:

Probably hosted in Tampa then. Canada still up. Not sure what other locations I have with them but Tampa the only one offline going by my monitors.
They are probably hosted in Tampa.. Should move them in Seattle, just saying...
No way to contact them too ?
My Tampa is also down. UK and LT are up.
Can confirm... Uk and Lt up.
Its 'only' been down for 50 min. or so. Nothing concerning if you have a failover in place
50 minutes is enough , been few times already last months..
Up again
My VPS in Tampa with them was suspended until the end of the month because I used the entire 8TB allocated traffic. (for syncthinging too much)
So one can say I am not affected
Always looking at the positives, but my vps is down anyways.
looks like its back now
@sisoshalev - since I got Solid, I've experienced approx. 1 outage per month
this so far I think has already been the longest.
I've got some failover, but the process is a PITA. Luckily none of my critical stuff is on that Tampa server, so I'm not missing money, but the users are sad. This is right in the middle of their work day.
Hopefully after what ever this is, they work out the kinks.
I'd also give them the benefit of the doubt that they didn't plan any of this out, otherwise their other critical web stuff for their own businesses wouldn't be on those same Tampa servers.
I could kiss you right now!
I checked logs and there's been some downtime before indeed. No biggy for my setup but yes, more than average.
I didn't even know this was a possibility
they don't send you a ransom notice, or you can't pay your way out of it?
You can opt to suspend when you hit the limit or pay for overage if I'm not mistaken.
Nice
I've only met a few problems I couldn't pay my way out of at first, but I got worried reading the other user's post XD haha.
The main project on my Tampa server was something that was with another provider on a VPS and they presented me with a problem I couldn't pay my way out of: the VPS they sold me (because of the age) couldn't be upgraded in place with more RAM or vCPU - and it was unmanaged of course, so I was going to have to relocate it regardless, and... hey, if I have to relocate everything anyway, let me see what deals are out there...
and I stumbled across a Thanksgiving deal from Solid that is easily one of the best VPS deals I ever got in my life (I hoard these servers like Pokemon cards, all across the world). The fact it is right down the road from me - if the outage lasts too long I can walk down there and start moving cables around I suppose
or get arrested for trespass.
Hey everyone,
we're currently adding more upstream capacity in Tampa, FL as we speak.
The outage you experienced was likely due to our IPs passing through the new upstream filter. However, we’ve confirmed that everything is now good to go. This downtime lasted about 20-30 minutes while we were rolling out the update.
Going forward, we’ve added more upstream to ensure Tampa stays stable. With this new setup in place, we’re hopeful this will be a thing of the past for Tampa, just like it is at our other locations.
Thanks for the update!
Stay with Solid. They're not infallible but overall great service for what you're paying and very responsive team.
Please bear with us. Tampa has always been one of our strongest locations. We recently moved to a new facility, and the upstream capacity there is currently limited. We are actively adding more capacity, and once today’s setup is fully completed, we expect Tampa, FL to be just as stable and reliable as all our other locations.
We appreciate your patience and understanding while these improvements are being rolled out. Thank you!
